#gentoo

<DrEeevil> jack_deltrino: new versions do that
<edit_lp2> BLuFFaLo, add your lines in the same section please then post it on nopaste
<BLuFFaLo> edit_lp2 k one sec
<pekster> Drakonen: Aren't the gentoo patches applied to the 2.6.19 vanilla kernel trunk?
<romanos> renihs, ellinas?
<doc|home> pekster: to gentoo-sources yes, to vanilla, I don't think so
<Kalidarn_1> anyone had a problem with Wolfenstein Enemy Territory plays all it's sound in fast forward? ive had a look about but it hasn't revealed much, I have a Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)?
<guille> dragonheart, Thanks
<jack_deltrino> DrEeevil: I think I'm just going to reinstall koffice libraries again.
<jack_deltrino> Kalidarn_1: nope, i have the exact same setup on one of my machines
<pekster> doc|home: Right, but wifiisevil is trying to sneakernet the proper stuff to an offline box to emerge the gentoo-sources
<guille> dragonheart, but I don't want to emerge the package what I'd like to do is like a emerge --oneshot but with a package already installed
<BLuFFaLo> edit_lp2 http://rafb.net/p/IqvgaM34.html
<wifiisevil> But if it says I need 2.6.19-5 won't that mean it will depend on that version of the kernel?
<guille> *I don't want to UNMERGE
<edit_lp2> ta ok
<doc|home> wifiisevil: pekster more trouble than it's worth?
<edit_lp2> BLuFFaLo, no no no
<wifiisevil> doc|home: won't?
<BLuFFaLo> i dont understand :P
<edit_lp2> BLuFFaLo, you already have that section
<wifiisevil> *what?
<dragonheart> guille: then editing the package out of /var/lib/portage/world is ok
<doc|home> wifiisevil: why do you need to do that?
<Przemcio78> how much time sholud it take to compile kdelibs? i've got athlon xp 2200
<wifiisevil> do what?
<edit_lp2> BLuFFaLo, in the same section you had the typo
<doc|home> seems like a lot of trouble to just get some patches
<wifiisevil> I know!!!
<jesus> I have some trouble with gcc, making a revdep-rebuild i get: "broken /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.1/libgij.la (requires /usr/lib/libgcj.la)" But reemerging gcc wont helt, I still get the same error. Suggestions?
<doc|home> wifiisevil: why not just go with vanilla sources?
<wifiisevil> Gentoo networkless install seems like a lot of trouble in itself :(
<jesus> help*
<BLuFFaLo> edit_lp2 can you do it for me, i really am confused as to what you mean
<wifiisevil> vanilla sources? can you please explain to me what actually needs to happen?
<doc|home> wifiisevil: that should be on the cd/dvd
<wifiisevil> oh my live cd?
<wifiisevil> on*
<edit_lp2> BLuFFaLo, (shrug) ok
<BLuFFaLo> edit_lp2 i will understand when i see it done peroerly
<BLuFFaLo> properly
<edit_lp2> ok
<doc|home> wifiisevil: you need the packages cd, although it's a long long time since I did it
<BLuFFaLo> thanks
<wifiisevil> doc|home: I ONLY have the live cd :(
<Przemcio78> it's the 14th hour of compiling kdelibs now, on arch it compiled in three hours, why does it take so long to compile things in gentoo?
<wifiisevil> and I have 300mb of bandwith left to last me 10 days so I shan't be downloading anything.
<doc|home> ah, that's where you're going wrong. one sec
<guille> dragonheart, that fixed my problem I've commented the package I don't want to be updated. Thanks again
<pekster> Przemcio78: Are you only compiling kdelibs, or all of KDE (which is a *lot* more than just kdelibs)?
