<moreon> crzydrnkmofo: excellent. yes it will.
<lbleo> oh, big C? i have tried small-capped c
<moreon> crzydrnkmofo: You may want to continue your revdep-rebuild
<moreon> crzydrnkmofo: you'll be able to now :)
<crzydrnkmofo> yeah im running that now (which will still rebuild wget)
<moreon> if you just rebuilt wget it shouldn't want to rebuild it... *Shrug*
<crzydrnkmofo> I REALLY didnt want to have to start over again, why'd it break like that ?
<lbleo> moreon: that works! unmerging the package...
<moreon> crzydrnkmofo: no worries, you won't have to start over.
<NightKhaos> Have people been recently having problems with wget?
<jwickers> Gruelius: i have no idea how it is supposed to work on Gnome, there is also a part of udev that i configured a loooong time ago so i do not know the exact steps. Probably you need to check on gentoo wiki
<moreon> NightKhaos: a few people yes, are you on that list too? :P
<crzydrnkmofo> so why would emerge not catch that and put it in there ?
<NightKhaos> moreon: not that I am aware of.
<Gruelius> argh, im going to get KDE and start from scratch
<Gruelius> brb 3 hours lol
<NightKhaos> jwickers: what was his problem?
<[Remy]> Anyone know of a good, easy to install, ftpd? Preferably emergable. :|
<moreon> crzydrnkmofo: I don't know. To be honest I'm usually more concerned with fixing people's problems than figuring out how they happened :P I'll ask the next person who has the issue about it and dig in some further :P
<NightKhaos> [Remy]: yes... just let me remember what it is...
<crzydrnkmofo> moreon: lol. Yeah but i'd just like to know what would cause portage to not catch that and allow something to happen that drastic, lol.
<NightKhaos> [Remy]: I use it.
<[Remy]> Thanks :D
<[Remy]> I really need one
<Enfyrneaux> lol
<jwickers> NightKhaos: strange issues with automounting devices in Gnome
<jwickers> NightKhaos: do not know if that is ivman/hal/udev/ or just gnome related
<NightKhaos> [Remy]: vsftpd
<[Remy]> Ah, ok.
<crzydrnkmofo> while i guess while im in the live cd, i'll download the kde-meta packages all 367 of them so i can reboot and then start that fun process while i sleep
<[Remy]> I'll give it a shot, again, just got 2 people telling me that once. :|
<NightKhaos> jwickers: like that?
<moreon> crzydrnkmofo: Because emerge --depclean is never 100% safe. emerge doesn't handle reverse dependencies very well to be honest. There's always a substantial risk trying to unmerge "unused" dependencies and things unless you know what you're doing and are very very careful :P
<crzydrnkmofo> yeah i HAD downloaded all of these packages but i guess --depclean will clean out whatever you have downloaded to :( (if its not installed yet)
<NightKhaos> [Remy]: you could use mod_ftpd for apache, but I find that hard to configure, and unless you have an apache server, useless.
<NightKhaos> [Remy]: no point emerging apache just for ftp.
<[Remy]> Ah, ok.
<lbleo> moreon: i hope, have a good day!
<[Remy]> I'll just try my luck with vsftpd again.
<crzydrnkmofo> why ftp ? why not ssh ?
<[Remy]> I have SSH, I need ftp too.
<crzydrnkmofo> but you can transfer files over ssh to, and its more secure
<[Remy]> How so?
<[Remy]> (The transfer)
<jwickers> NightKhaos: last thing we got was "it mounts after it tells me mount error + permission error"
<NightKhaos> [Remy]: scp
<crzydrnkmofo> hold on one second ive done it before lemme check before i give wrong instructions
<adante> hi, is there a way i can tell if my hdd is in heavy usage? (like top for the hdd)
<sertsa> man scp
<xor11u> hi, how can I emerge "postgresql 8.2" ?
