<kain> sgrat
<Evolution> correct
<kain> subversion is part of the base, therefore I cannot upgrade it?
<kain> a bit confused about this, I've another extra repos
<kain> for plesk
<Zathrus-2> you can add it, but you'll need to temporarily disable the plugin to do so
<Zathrus-2> er, upgrade it
<kain> ah, allrigh
<Evolution> but if you want to replace it, you have to disable that
<kain> Updated: subversion.i386 0:1.4.3-0.1.el4.rf
<kain> Dependency Updated: mod_dav_svn.i386 0:1.4.3-0.1.el4.rf subversion-devel.i386 0:1.4.3-0.1.el4.rf
<kain> Complete!
<kain> :)
<kain> Powered by Subversion version 1.4.3 (r23084).
<kain> oh yeah
<kain> thanks
<neteng> how can I find: kernel-smp-2.6.9-42.0.3.EL
<neteng> I did a yum update kernel-smp-2.6.9-42.0.3.EL and it says Nothing to do....
<neteng> yet a yum list | grep kernel-smp doesn't show it there
<Evolution> rpm -q kernel
<kain> i Updating : clamd ####################### [15/30]
<kain> error: %trigger(qmail-scanner-2.01-12.rhel4.art.noarch) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
<kain> ulp
<neteng> kernel-2.6.9-42.0.1.EL
<Zathrus-2> neteng: note that 42.0.3 is not the most recent.
<Evolution> neteng: also be aware that some hosted providers block kernel updates
<neteng> I know
<neteng> 08 is
<neteng> but it killed my HBA drivers
<neteng> and emc software
<neteng> so I have to head back to 03
<Evolution> hahah emc
<neteng> don't laugh... I didn't buy it
<Zathrus-2> ignore Evolution, he's just envious
<neteng> I'm not a fan of it
<mjh001> exactly what am I telling the kernel when I use the option pci=nommconf?
<mjh001> ...and will this prevent the use of pci devices?
<range> Don't do memory mapping configuration on the pci bus. Whatever that means.
<orc_orc> my gfriend Google says on its first page: The pci=nommconf kernel parameter disables the MMCONFIG PCI configuration space access method, which forces the kernel back to PCI type 1 configuration
<neteng> and ideas where I can find that?
<range> orc_orc: Whatever that means :)
<mjh001> yeah, been talking to my pal google alot about this and so far been down alot of dead ends
<orc_orc> the krenel parameters doco explains it in more detail but it is sensible to ask a question of Google first, as orc's strive to become less doctrinaire
<orc_orc> mjh001: but think of all the new friends, and knowledge you did not know existed, which you have now met
<mjh001> most of what I am finding is forum posts telling the origional poster to give up and take another route to fix their problems, my problem is primairly I cant boot/install without the nommconf option and later I cant install zaptel drivers and the system is not seeing any pci devices (they are fxo cards)
<orc_orc> jmeven with a manuall call of kudzu, and not in lspci -v ?
<mjh001> thanks orc, trust me I spend pleanty of time with google, we go way back, and dejanews befor google...
<orc_orc> jmeven nm -- mjh001 that is
<mjh001> dont know what jmeven nm is... kern.. opt...
<mjh001> ?
