<DuCkNeT> yeah i check that
<DuCkNeT> i have some warning but no error
<Arrfab> DuCkNeT : i see problems in your question : centos server and X ...
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: have you uncommented correctly the "TRUST_AITH_MECH" and the define('confAUTH_MECHANISMS', ... in the /etc/mail/sendmail.mc?
<Arrfab> DuCkNeT : i guess that you've installed ServerCD ?
<h3sp4wn> alleycat: I am pretty sure I don't need it - works fine without
<DuCkNeT> yes i did
<h3sp4wn> thanks again
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, grep TRUST sendmail.mc gives: TRUST_AUTH_MECH(`EXTERNAL DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN')dnl
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, grep MECHA sendmail.mc gives: define(`confAUTH_MECHANISMS',`EXTERNAL GSSAPI DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN SASL')
<DuCkNeT> Arrfab: at some point i see the X with background and it just crash down on me
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: so I guess both lines are uncommented
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, yes.
<Arrfab> DuCkNeT : how have you installed X ? because it's not installed with the ServerCD ...
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, and I rebuilt sendmail.cf afterwards.
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: with make -C /etc/mail?
<DuCkNeT> on the setup it ask for xwindow system component and kde and gnome i did install the xwindows and kde and gnome
<Arrfab> DuCkNeT : you should use `yum groupinstall ` to install either gnome or kde ... it's not installed (and it should be on a server anyway ...)
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, yes.
<Arrfab> s/it should/it should not /
<DuCkNeT> shouldn`t be install....
<DuCkNeT> its way better for configuring
<Arrfab> DuCkNeT : configuring what ?
<DuCkNeT> unless you can tell me other option
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: hmm ... do you receive some error messages in the /var/log/maillog or /var/log/messages?
<DuCkNeT> fpt
<DuCkNeT> web
<DuCkNeT> static ip
<archangle25> any cyrus-imapd users here?
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: I mean at the same time when you are trying to send an email
<archangle25> any cyrus-imapd *admins* here... ? :)
<xerophyte> does CentOS kernel comes with ipset patch ?
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, yes. I get a "unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory" followed by a "no secret in database" then "do_auth : auth failure: [user=test] [service=smtp] [realm=domain1.com] [mech=shadow] [reason=Unknown]" and finally "Password verification failed"
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: FYI I receive the same error but it works for me
<Arrfab> DuCkNeT : do what you want, i gave you the command to use to install it if you really want to ... man yum (look after grouplist and groupinstall)
<Eliran_Itzhak> Just to make sure, "30 2 * * * /root/b.sh" in crontab -e will run every night at 02:30, correct ?
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: except the last part about "auth failure"
<archangle25> any post install configuration needed to get a plaintext imap login to a standard unix mailbox using cyrus-imapd ??
<DuCkNeT> thanks i`ll try to figure out to do it without
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: wrong, I receive completely the same error message, and I can confirm that it works for me
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, very interesting. I cannot figure out why it's even looking for the /etc/sasldb2 file, since it's (theoretically) set for "shadow".
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: I ignore why I receive this error message but still it works. I have reproduced the same behaviour in a couple of servers with CentOS4 and FC3
<range> archangle25: You can't. cyrus-imapd uses its own format.
<wyleyrabbit> Mikaku, perhaps someone fixed something...because I get the error, and it doesn't work. ;-)
<range> archangle25: So it's not able to work with standard mboxes. You might want to try dovecot for that.
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: heh, nothing worse than fix a compensative double-errors :)
<Mikaku> anyway
<archangle25> excellent, progress... thanks range
<range> No problem :)
<Mikaku> wyleyrabbit: I have MECH=shadow in the /etc/sysconfig/saslauthd, do you?
