2 million records only 2.5mb :)
|mrgibson||Hi, on one server, I do a Select on 2 differnt database in same time, on my ISP server, its not working, does MySQL have a configuration item to disable this feature?|
|Wulf_||sorry.. read `,' as `.' of course 2,395 MiB is 2.5GB|
in German , and . have reversed meaning..
|Wulf_||mrgibson: do you get an error message?|
|Wulf_||mrgibson: different mysql versions?|
|mrgibson||I dont know, I have not checked yet|
but something like SELECT FROM database.table do not work anymore
|chadmaynard||show grants; on each|
|schnoodles||anyone know how to make a whole InnoDB table have utf8 support|
|mrgibson||I have 2 different settings with grant|
my local server say GRANT ALL PRIV ON *.*
my ISP server say GRAND USAGE ON *.*
and GRANT SELECT,INSERT,UPDATE,DELETE,DROP for each database
|the_wench||Sorry - I have no idea what function you're talking about! but try http://dev.mysql.com/inheritance|
|ekimus||!man create table|
|ekimus||doesn't mysql support support table inheritance?|
|mrgibson||look like I need to do multiple connections for each database|
|ZzimmYY||i get dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected: trying to connect to it ?|
is there any way to get size of data stored in BLOB than LENGTH()?
|Clackwell||mikedld|w: other than you mean?|
LENGTH() takes too much time...
|chadmaynard||usually you store the size upon insert|
|mikedld|w||I can't believe this number isn't saved somewhere to quickly fetch it...|
|Clackwell||mikedld|w: really? odd. i don't see a reason for it taking a lot of time, but i am thinking in terms of another db engine. maybe store the size in the same table ?|
mikedld|w: yeah, you'd think mysql would keep it around for general purposes in the first place.
|mikedld|w||I can't store size since I'm not a developer but QA engineer|
|Clackwell||mikedld|w: in another db engine with blob support you can select the blobs, get the "id" of each blob and can that way locate the file containing the blob data. getting it's size is easy at that point.|
no clue about mysql though, sorry.
