toanducitDo I use operator LIKE???
litheumtoanducit: DROP TABLE aaaa_test1, bbbb_test; ?
toanducit: did you even try that? ;)
_syphilis_ah, there's an alter view, it's just hidden in the docs
toanducitI dit that, but It's not OK
preactionwhy are you trying to do what you're tying to do?
litheumtoanducit: it's "not OK"??
toanducit: what version of mysql are you using?
toanducitnewest
:) my English is poor
litheumtoanducit: what is the version number you have ... "newest" doesn't help too much :)
preactiontoanducit: why do you need to drop two tables with one statement?
litheumtoanducit: and what do you mean "not OK" ... does it give you some error message?
actionlitheum slaps preaction
litheumslaps preaction
preaction: who cares? ;)
preactionbecause if the statement you gave him doesn't work, he must want a different outcome. the means is more important. and there's always .. oh.. i don't know... drop table1; drop table2;
or make a transaction, or lock the tables, or whatever
litheumdrop table is not transactional
preactionas i figured
toanducitSHOW TABLES LIKE '%test1%'. And I want to drop tables like this statement
StuBohelp, I have an Alter table command thats taking hours with its status in 'repair keycache'
I only added one field lol
litheumStuBo: best bet is to kill it and then increase the myisam sort file size so you don't have to use the keycache, then start it again
or just wait for it to finish ;)
how big is your table? and how big was the MYI before you started this stmt?
StuBoabout 5Gb
litheumtoanducit: not gonna happen
StuBoMyisam
litheumtoanducit: that would be a really silly thing to do... you should always explicitly name things when you want to do something as destructive as dropping tables!
StuBo: yes, the keycache only applies to mysaim
StuBolitheum: will killing it not screw my table
litheumStuBo: no, killing it won't screw anything up
StuBo: but you made a backup before starting this anyway, right!
so it doesn't matter! :)
StuBoyep, its got a backup
litheumStuBo: myisam_max_sort_file_size is the variable you should worry about ... check it out at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/server-system-variables.html
toanducitlitheum: It's my purpose
StuBoyeah.....how big should it be set?
litheumtoanducit: still, it's not going to happen :)
StuBofor a 5gb table
