zeitounso you should get in there the full queries that are above the settled time
L|NUXthese are example http://pastebin.ca/376800
domas and zeitoun http://pastebin.ca/376800
domashehehe
L|NUXdomas : what happen :(
Thumannhi, hmm.. if i do a export from phpmyadmin.. and an import on the same server on a different database.. all my 'special characters' are f*scked up pretty badly.. any way to avoid this?
domasI'd see such a query on our live cluster, I'd shoot people immediately
L|NUXhummm
Thumannis this collation realted or is the basic export from phpmyadmin not the best way to go about it?
domasThumann: may be collation related
Thumanndomas: as far as i can see.. they're using the same collation
domasThumann: is 'SET NAMES' appropriate for the data that is in the dump?
zeitounL|NUX: first of all, it looks like your subselect can be turned into a simple join, that would be a first start.
Thumanndomas: so try to SET NAMES {collation} before the import?
domascharacter set, yes
as in, it has to represent the reality
it is very common mistake to set table collations, but not to define which charset data comes into server
so you end up with latin1
though you think it is utf8
Thumanndomas: okay.. well i can see in the export file that SET NAMES utf8; is defined
i used SQLyog to export the data
dont know if you know it
a win32 app much like the enterprise manager for mssql
actionThumann hides
Thumannhides
L|NUXsorry had network issue
domas : you still arround
domasThumann: the core issue around character sets - be consistent
Xen^domas its me L|NUX
endy`isnt the innodb checkpoint position incremental ?
nils_morning
endy`hi nils_ :)
domasendy`: roundrobin
endy`is it normal to have: Last checkpoint at 175 1866657147
and innodb hot backup complaining about: ibbackup: but a checkpoint was at 175 233441575
Thumanndomas: i'll double check charactersets and make sure the correc ones are fedine in the import/export
thanks
endy`mmm i think i read somewhere that the total innodb_log_file_size*innodb_log_files_in_group must not be over 4G.. is that right ?
ponchahi
i need help in designing storage tables for metadata (DCMI kind of data, my metainformation set is somewhat diffetrent from dcmi, but general idea is the same).
the point i get stuck with - dataset is dynamic (i.e. may vary from object to object) and datatypes are not consistent, and yet all this info needs to be searchable, so filling data into blobs is not quite an option
