trontosnyef: begs the question, WHY?
AdamantCLtL2 is hyyuuuge
imacpr0nCLtL2 is a reference book. PAIP is a teaching book
nyefVarious reasons. It wasn't -long- after Win95 was out, after all...
And this was back when WINE sucked horribly.
RiastradhCLtL2 isn't all that big... The complete and annotated works of William Shakespeare make a much larger tome!
faxhaha
thats certainly a bad standpoint for comparisons
nyefAnd god help us if someone ever tries to make a hardcopy of the collected works of usenet.
asbjxrnWorks? Don't you mean "works"?
bdowningI like how you could print "[meaningless drivel snipped]" and still be 99.9% accurate.
faxwhat should I call a destructive function which doesnt return one of its parameters?
asbjxrndestruct-random-parameter ?
Depends on what it does, (defun modify-status (object new-status) should give you an idea what the function does when you read the source a couple of years later.
tz_Is there a quicker way to rebuild SBCL then running make.sh? It seems to recompile everything...
antifuchscool (:
if you do, I'll probably have to do something about the cvs locking/git syncing situation
Xachoof
nyef(Honestly, I'm not at all sure I have as many changes to make next month.)
antifuchsyou can always decommit changes and re-commit them to fill the quota(:
Xachpull a nikodemus, commit stuff just to revert to inflate your stats!
nyefMaybe I could just get an x86-64 system running. That'd let me do some more backend cleanups...
syamajalai have an x86-64 system i don't use...
nyefI have an x86-64 system that I use in 32-bit mode.
And I have a hack in mind to possibly run a 64-bit virtual guest, but haven't settled down to actually try and figure it out.
z3r0_dnyef, if you had a 64 bit install you could run 32 bit stuff in a chroot...
[I used to do that, but am back in the 32 bit land where things I use work]
nyefz3r0_d: Sure, but I'm not about to pay for a 64-bit windows.
z3r0_doh... right
nyef(And it has become blatantly obvious that nothing else will run this hardware properly.)
z3r0_dmaybe in a year vista will be usuable?
rr--is something changes in the PostgreSQL database, is there a way for Lisp to know or be notified ... or do you have to re-read in all the tables of interest to be sure that Lisp world is up to date w.r.t. database
if
Xachthere's a notify mechanism. but i don't know if anything in particular supports it out of the box.
trontoswow, so many people
quick question, is there a quick reference or equivalent for slime?
actiontrontos is reading Practical Common Lisp and would really like a cheat sheet for Slime 8)
trontosis reading Practical Common Lisp and would really like a cheat sheet for Slime 8)
