attila_lendvainyef: from a project mainainer point of view, it would, because that would be a minimal work. but as a programmer i would like a solution completly avoiding tarballs and relying on vcs'es checkout command.
froydnjasdf-release!
michaelwasdf-packaging-tools already has a release-op which makes a tarball...
attila_lendvaiand a code that could package up something like the ucw-boxset: you give it an asdf system and a directory and it checks out all the required libs (possibly failing due to unresolvable depencencies) and sets up a central registry that looks for .asdf files there first
michaelwattila_lendvai: gwking might have something like that
drewcattila_lendvai: send the patch again, this time including the /t/* files

msinghIs it not possible to have the following lambda list: (word &key padding &rest F)?
Xachmsingh: it is not possible.
msinghXach, ok. is there a work-around that i have missed
Xachmsingh: &rest must precede &key, and it slurps up all the keyword/value pairs too.
rahulmsingh: what happens if you don't specify padding?
or what if you do, but it's after something else?
msinghrahul, ohh.
ralfDHello, anyone using the SWIG cffi generation?
nyefSo you could do (word &rest foo &key padding), but you then have to have an odd number of parameters (even number for the keywords, plus one for the fixed arg).
msinghnyef, sbcl says that as much - that i have an odd number of keywords
(or &key arguments)
rahulyeah, it's got to be able to search through the rest of the args looking for the keyword args
nyefmsingh: Right, because the contents of the rest-list have to be a valid set of keyword args for the function.
rahul(defmacro word ((&optional padding) &body F)
that's a possibility
Xachlet's not get crazy
rahuloh, ok
that's supposed to happen tonight
and the night after. and the night after. and the night after.
(there's no place like a mosh pit. there's no place like a mosh pit. there's no place like a mosh pit.)
Xachtimjr: i decided to swing for the fences on the amazon thing.
it reminds me a little bit of the old appleII lemonade stand game
"sure, not many buyers for $5000 a cup...but i only need *one*!"
msinghnyef, ok, i see that. i might just remove the original &key
nyefXach: ... Dear god, I never even though of that strategy for that game. Does it work?
Xachi don't remember. i don't think so.
actionnyef wonders where he left his DOS 3.2 master disk...
nyefwonders where he left his DOS 3.2 master disk...
Xachanyway, i encourage any people considering a macbook purchase to do so via planet lisp!
actiontritchey wonders when nyef's os collection is going to succumb to cosmic ray bombardment
tritcheywonders when nyef's os collection is going to succumb to cosmic ray bombardment
nyeftritchey: Well, it's pretty bad in the case of the Apple ][ stuff, as I can't really back that up due to incompatible disk formats...
jsoAs I'm new to lisp, are Macs the OS of choice for most LISPers? (I recently picked one up, as I like them so much :)
timjrXach: yeah, I noticed the macbook pro on there this morning :)
faxjso: I have a mac and use lisp on it
