pillsyEr, perhaps not...
i can't find any indication in the docs as to how i'd go about installing that reader macro....
froydnj(SERIES::INSTALL) (from RELEASE-NOTES in the distribution)
pillsyAh, thanks.
slyrus_how come there's now "building mcclim applications" tutorial at ILC?
rydis"Now" or "no"?
slyrus_no
trebor_homehi. are there free available lisp-to-fortran converter/translater? does anybody have experience with this?
slyrus_minion: f2c
minionSorry, I couldn't find anything in the database for ``f2c''.
slyrus_minion: f2cl
minionSorry, I couldn't find anything in the database for ``f2cl''.
rydisslyrus: That's the other way, isn't it?
slyrus_heh
I can neither read (comprehend) nor type this morning.
trebor_home: why would you want to do that?
rydisI haven't heard of any lisp-to-fortran translators.
trebor_homei searched via google: lisp to fortran converter translater, but i did not find a good link.
rydisCheck the CMU AI archive, I guess.
(If it's anywhere, it's there.)
adehtminion: clocc
minionclocc: No definition was found in the first 5 lines of http://www.cliki.net/clocc
adehtthere.
trebor_homeslyrus_: i am still learning lisp and i find it nicer to work with - compared to the edit - compile - debug & anger mode .... (coming from c/c++).
slyrus_but why would you want to translate lisp to fortran?
trebor_homeslyrus_: i have to write fortran subroutines for fem. i thought i could test algorithms in lisp first, translate them to fortran for a first try and optimize them later.
pillsywell, SERIES::INSTALL did the trick for the reader macro, but it still doesn't do the right thing when I try something like (series 'a 'b). Something is going wrong wth the printing I think.
trebor_home(if optimization is needed at all).
rmetrebor_home: even if you have to translate the functions by hand, it can sometimes still be a win to develop the functions in lisp first.
I just commented about this sort of thing http://www.thoughtstuff.com/rme/weblog/
rydisHmm. I wonder if KMP didn't mention a Lisp to Fortran translator. Probably not available, if it wasn't the other way around.
trebor_homei do not need the full strength of lisp (macros...). i would be fine with a subset of lisp ;)
rahulKMP's first lisp program was f2cl
or some predecessor of it
he came from fortran, so he wanted to have something to convert his existing programs, I guess
rydisrahul: Yes, I remember that. I have some very vague recollections of something going the other way, though it doesn't really make much sense.
(Well, I remember reading about it, that is.)
michaelwpillsy: hmm, something there is indeed broken: (series:subseries (series:series 'b 'c) 0 10) => #Z(LIST B C LIST B C LIST B C LIST)
rahulwhere'd you get the code?
michaelwvia asdf-install
