nkayhanhendaus: ctrl alt esc will
bortjhutchins: it says "0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded" when i type apt-get upgrade
SanneLinux_Galore: nice one :) Mind giving the url?
jhutchinshendaus: It should if the system is running properly.
hendaus: You may need to restart.
hendausnkayhan, it opens the process table kde
jhutchinshendaus: I've had it fail a few times.
Linux_GaloreSanne: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ticket/4810
SanneLinux_Galore: thanks... reading
jhutchinshendaus: opening a console and stopping kdm will get you back to the "black screen".
nkayhannkayhan: oh, that's weird umm, I know there's an easy way by default

ScottLij: I've been able to listen to a lot of windows streams with amarok.
nkayhanScottLij: get the mplayer pluggin, it should work
SanneLinux_Galore: nice and short and to the point. I will keep an eye on this one.
jhutchinshendaus: Make sure all the packages got updated cleanly.
ScottLijmplayer pluggin to FireFox?
hendausjhutchins, ok i open the konsole.now how can i get back to the black screen?
jhutchinshendaus: sudo /etc/init.d/?dm stop
nkayhanScottLij: yea sudo apt-get install mplayer-mozilla
Linux_GaloreSanne: to be honest its a personal thing because I usually muck around with the installs and add a few customer odds and ends to a install, as you can guess this makes the standard update method turn into a mess so a clean install is easier
bortjhutchins: it says "0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded" when i type apt-get upgrade
ScottLijE: Couldn't find package mplayer-mozilla
jhutchinsbort: cat /etc/lsb-release
SanneLinux_Galore: heh, yeah, I can imagine. I think it can be an advancement for everybody, so it would be cool if it were presented especially to beginners at install time.
Linux_GaloreSanne: Ive been doing this with SuSE and Mandriva for years now with very few issues
bortjhutchins: "distrib_release=6.06 , DISTRIB_CODENAME=dapper, DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS"
jhutchinshendaus: sudo dpkg --configure -a
ScottLijah, its mozilla-mplayer :)
