Sho_deitarion: I actually talked Diego into adding that use flag once, but then he left the Gentoo project
deitarion: It's not a patch anymore, btw ... it's included in mainline KDE, and while it can be set as a build option, it can also be done per-user via the kdesu config file
deitarionWhat version of KDE do I need?
Sho_3.5.5 or 3.5.6 iirc
not sure
deitarionI've got 3.5.5. Any docs on how well it follows command-line sudo?
Sho_No idea, sorry (I don't use it myself)
deitarionI noticed that it is (or was, last time I checked) ignoring the sudo password cache feature... which is a darn shame.
AmyRoseso there is no news on the Kecko kpart, huh?
lontrais there a cbz viewer for kde?
actionSimeon_H huggles AmyRose
Simeon_Hhuggles AmyRose
cenuijare there any locking issues with amarok & a homedir mounted over NFS ?
fcntl(12, F_SETLK, {type=F_RDLCK, whence=SEEK_SET, start=1073741824, len=1}) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
is where amarok barfs on me when i try to launch it
CPrgmSwR2I find it interesting that ubuntu does so well because I don't think gnome is all that great
cenuijit's ze hype
lontraCPrgmSwR2: well gnome is nice but it's not very customizable, speedy, or nice lookin :)
AmyRoseCPrgmSwR2: Amen.
cenuijhaha
icwiener_AmyRose: Where do you see news about kecko?
cenuijso true
AmyRoselontra: GNOME freaks say KDE is the bloated desktop :P
icwiener_You are all biased. :P
AmyRoselontra: Then they're all shocked that I can run KDE on a Pentium II
lontraAmyRose: well all i know is that gnome takes much longer to run on my laptop and konqueror opens in about 1/2 second ... try that with epiphany :p
actionlontra agrees with icwiener_ though
lontraagrees with icwiener_ though
AmyRoselontra: Oh, I'm siding with you
lontrahe he
AmyRoselontra: Which is why I run KDE on my older computer instead of GNOME
CPrgmSwR2It seems kde4 is going to be the version that may convert some gnome users
AmyRoseCPrgmSwR2: How many features are being removed?
icwiener_loool
AmyRoseCPrgmSwR2: That's what GNOME is all about, feature removal
CPrgmSwR2I think gnomes idea of using c rather than c++ is also an issue
cenuijit's why i moved away from freeBSD in the end
AmyRoseThey won't like KDE unless everything that makes KDE great is removed
cenuijregardless of how good fbsd ports are
building gnome was meh
CPrgmSwR2On gentoo its rather easy to build gnome
cenuijprobably is too on fbsd now, but in 98 building gnome sucked period
