Lanken(*moniker)
eisenalt+numpad
JucatoAlt+numbers
annmawhere is the setting for that usually in other OS?
eisenit's default
LankenI thought alt+numpad was just for ascii.
wolsniyou hold the alt key down while entering the numbers of the unicode value, then release it when you're done
Lankenhow do you do unicode in windows?
I could always do en-dash and em-dash with alt0151 and alt0152
annmawolsni: it works per default that way?
eisenyes
Jucatoannma: yep. on windows
no special setting needed
eisendon't know about mac, but I believe it's similar there
annmaso for example you woul ddo it there in Konvi?
ah I don't have a numpad
I know why it's not there: all devels have laptops
wolsnihehe
Lanken-__
eisenit works on laptops as well, you just enable the numpad with the fn combo :P
annmabesides for numbers I already have to press shift
wolsnii don't think you have to use the numpad
annmaeisen: I have to hold shift
Jucatoannma: well it doesn't have to be the numpad. any number input would do
annmaazerty, you know
Lankenannma: my D620 could do alt+numpad characters with the Fn key
Jucato: are you sure? I think my top numerals didn't work in XP SP2
eisenI think it's odd that it's not implemented in kde
annmathere's no such thing on mine Lanken
Lankeneisen: I agree :\
JucatoLanken: hm... iirc only
annmaeisen: go ahead and do it
Lankenannma: I'm curious, what OEM and form factor?
JucatoI will have to reboot to check...
LankenJucato: don't bother. it's not worth the pain.
