ses1959_i tried emerge vuescan84.tqz
Renzelet me guess... sabayon?
ses1959_ok thank you yes it is sabayon
Renzethen you need to ask in #sabayon
ses1959_ok will try that
Shirakawasuna*sigh*
doesn't sabayon have a gui for portage? You'd think they'd want one considering the newbs they get
RenzeI think they use kuroo
Lankenkuroo isn't really *there* yet, either.
Renze: do you know what a "hat" means in statistics?
Renzeplus newbs tend to assume difficulty and therefore overlook the easier options
Lanken: nope, I'm not a statistics geek
LankenI think it must be the residual
RenzeLanken: have you joined IRC Anonymous yet?
Vash63Are there any good IRC clients with mIRC-like scripting abilities? If so, which ones interface best with KDE?
actionRenze has no idea what "mIRC-like scripting" is
Renzehas no idea what "mIRC-like scripting" is
Vash63Well, I'm on Konversation now and it doesn't seem to have much built-in.
Renzeit doesn't need anything built in
just use dcop calls from whatever scripting language you like
Vash63How would I go about checking a user's whois or channel status with a Konversation script then?
Renzedon't ask me, I've never needed to write a script
I leave that for the kiddies
fred87Vash63: several (ie most) have perl and/or tcl scripting support
Vash63Well, I'd rather have something built in since it would keep track of local variables like that.
Without me having to set up sends between programs.
fred87x-chat does, assuming you're wanting something graphical (but it's not a kde application)
Vash63Yeah, X-Chat didn't seem to theme too well in KDE, I didn't mess with it very long though.
fred87Vash63: though I'm not awre of any client with a language as simple as mircs.Perl/tcl are pretty much standard.
there's also irssi that integrates well with konsole :D
Renzeafaik, konversation will have better scripting support in the first version for KDE4
Vash63That would be nice. I'm considering just using WINE w/ mIRC but afraid that would look terrible.
Renzepersonally, I have absolutely no use for scripting, even though I'm on IRC 24/7
actionfred87 agrees with Renze, with the exception of the irssi nickcolor script :)
fred87agrees with Renze, with the exception of the irssi nickcolor script :)
Vash63Well, I had a lot of mIRC scripts when I was on windows to do things like keep track of bans per user, ban/devoice, etc.
And of course little things like triggers to link to stuff.
Renzetriggers to link to stuff? that's what apt is for
actionRenze pokes apt
Renzepokes apt
actionfred87 wonders if "triggers to link to stuff" means annoying announcements and automatic nick changes that are reduntant given /whois
fred87wonders if "triggers to link to stuff" means annoying announcements and automatic nick changes that are reduntant given /whois
Vash63No, triggers. As in, other people would request it.
