and thank you very much
graftyeah... so... kill those firefox processes, eh?
satlahhow do i locate the process?
graftyou just did
satlahi cant see it on top
graftps -ef | grep firefox
satlahok i see it gave out all the firefox processes that were hanged...
shawn_workexactly how do I tell KDE to show printers on a print server *if* im not logged into the domain the print server is on? :)
satlahgraft: thank you, i killed the processes, and now it loads.
epimethahoy... I'm having some trouble with kio_media_mounthelper
can someone point me towards a description of its conf file and where it is located?
nobody home?
explodyok I've got 2 konsole windows with ~20 shell tabs open between them, with 100,000 lines of history available by default
mem usage was getting high (~280MB) so I "Clear all histories"
and my mem usage has shot up to a whopping 680MB
does this qualify as a bug, or is konsole usually that much of a hog?
(konsole 1.6.6, KDE 3.5.6)
and by mem usage I mean Konsole's RSS
slyfoxI was told to go here and aks this question since KDE has a problem - can someone pelase help me to isntall this? http://xoomer.alice.it/rockman81/kmobiletools/kmobiletools-svn-2007-02-27.tar.bz2
explodyslyfox: are you familiar with how to compile software from source?
slyfoxexplody: No, someone told me to just type this: 1)./compile-kmobiletools.sh and 2) make install and it should work but it does not
graftyo, explody - why do you need 100,000 lines of history?
explodygraft: lots and lots of output from things I'm running
graftseems exorbitant ... but still shouldn't take anywhere near 280M
explodyit probably is too much, but yes I agree
it's ballooned to 680MB now that I cleared the history
satlahgraft: thanks for the help, it seems to be one of the extensions causing this..
graftmemory leak?
what's a fresh konsole look like?
explodyslyfox: your problem may or may not be related to KDE, but you definitely need to learn more about compiling. Try some of the links here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=compiling+software+from+source&spell=1
