HairyDudewhat's the difference between getEnv and getEnvironment, other than that the latter doesn't seem to exist on my system?
int-ethey have different types
@type System.Environment.getEnv
lambdabotString -> IO String
int-e@type System.Environment.getEnvironmnet
lambdabotNot in scope: `System.Environment.getEnvironmnet'
int-e@type System.Environment.getEnvironment
lambdabotIO [(String, String)]
HairyDudeokay, so why doesn't it exist on my system?
int-eI don't know. Have you imported System.Environment? And what's your system?
HairyDudeor rather, it only exists for ghc... sigh
system is fc6
int-eoh.
IglooOne of them is posix-only IIRC
HairyDudeit's a posix system, should be no problem
int-eit's true - it's only defined for GHC. I wonder why.
HairyDudewas trying to use hugs for cgi, but it looks like this library doesn't like hugs
is it possible to use ghc as an interpreter?
int-eghci
HairyDudedoes that work non-interactively as well then?
int-eI think it does - runhaskell (as it comes with ghc) doesn't compile the code afaik.
HairyDudeah, there's runhaskell isn't there
int-eoh and runghc
(same program, different name, and more specific)
http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/latest/html/users_guide/modes.html#eval-mode
lambdabotTitle: 4.4. Modes of operation, http://tinyurl.com/2dwnn7
HairyDudehrm, I see ByteString is so new that there's no fedora extras package for it
IglooIt's in base in ghc 6.6
HairyDudewhich also isn't in fedora extras - all the ghc packages are 6.4
bah, being a neophile is annoying sometimes :)
bringertkosmikus: I guess you're not here, but I've run into a problem with how lhs2TeX handles UTF-8 characters in verbatim blocks
Igloobringert: Presumably you used ghc to compile lhs2TeX?
bringertIgloo: yes
Igloo: should I use something else? GNU ADA compiler? :-P
Igloobringert: If you'd used hugs I'd have suggested trying GHC, that's all
bringertah
I worked around it using Verbatim (fancyvrb) instead of verbatim. cheesy hack
HairyDudeoh, it's fc5 not fc6, sorry
shaprQuote that just happened in our pair programming session:
<shae> What's (certInfo':) ?
