|kc5tja||git looks cool, I have to admit. Might be better for repos that get MASSIVE quantities of submissions.|
But darcs is still my favorite. :)
|sorear||but there was a CVS phase, as witnessed by the ConversionFromCVS pages on wiki.x.org|
they were presumably in that phase when they forked XFree86
or should I say pwn3d
|pbx||Golly this Haskell takes a while to compile doesn't it|
|kc5tja||pbx: Took 6 hours on my box when I did 6.4.1|
|kc5tja||(never upgraded since)|
My box is an 800MHz Athlon Slot-A box.
So it's pretty old.
|sorear||kc5tja: Took 90 minutes when I did 6.7.20070213|
|allbery_b||ghc 6.7 takes about 6 hours on my machine... from source, full stage1+stage2+libs+profiled libs|
|kc5tja||sorear: Based on those figures, you have a 3200MHz machine, right?|
|allbery_b||G4 mac mini|
|sorear||kc5tja: 2000 actually. with an ungodly fast hard drive. 100MB/s, only 40x slower than RAM.|
(assuming you don't seek)
I've got 166MBps EIDE cables on mine, but the drives themselves aren't that fast. :)
I think they might be 100MBps, but that speed is nullified by the slow FSB.
|sorear||dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda makes anything look fast :)|
|pbx||I'm on a VPS that usually rips through things pretty fast, so I'm curious. Not curious enough to stay up and wait for it though. That's what GNU screen is for :)|
|sorear||no computation, no seeking|
track staggering ftw
dons: meteor fails here, can't find foldl' - List?
over-eager h98 hacking ;)
|pbx||I'm curious -- what are all the lines in the build like this? <<ghc: 220478812 bytes, 101 GCs, 4943272/14522424 avg/max bytes residency (8 samples), 31M in use, 0.00 INIT (0.00 elapsed), 1.36 MUT (3.52 elapsed), 0.55 GC (0.67 elapsed) :ghc>>|
|sorear||pbx: GC stats|
|lambdabot||I saw Cheery leaving #haskell 6h 8m 15s ago, and .|
|sorear||dons: sent patch: 'use time(1) rather than System.Time - makes backgrounding safe'|
want to attempt jhc support?
