kc5tjaOK, I can see that I'll be compiling Firefox pretty much all night long. :)
donsthe sad thing about gschuett/gavino/proton* is that he has been doing that kind of script for several years now
Calekc5tja: why are you compiling it?
jcreighkc5tja: yeah, Firefox does seem to take a while to build, which is why I try to avoid it.
donsand even pops up on the happs mailing list with the troll script

donsits possible he's a bot guess. since the script doesn't vary much
CaleCompiling things for which there are binaries is for suckers.
kc5tjaCale: Trying to fix a bug in nsLocalFileUnix -- it calls realpath(), but that function is deprecated and, well, causes Firefox to bork hard when invoking helper applications that are referenced via symlinks and proper helper operation depends on it.
donssorear: looking. thanks.
Caleah, okay, legitimate reasons then :)
soreardons: hehe. I added one line of code to use time(1), deleted ~20 lines of haskell. type correct now testing.
kc5tjaPlus, the bug in question has been open and no patches submitted against it since 2002. It's about time this bug is revisited. >:)
jcreighkc5tja: Thanks for your efforts. There are too many bugs in Mozilla that have been open for multiple election cycles.
kc5tjaWell, I'm not a mozilla developer.
I'm just a really pissed-off-at-firefox-for-causing-zombie-processes user. :)
jcreighkc5tja: doesn't matter. You're hacking on it. I assume you're going to submit your patch, yes?
