fastaLast year
April Fools Day
I missed it last year.
actionmux nods
muxnods
too bad :-)
fastaIt could be that they are doing the same joke this year.
Remember, it is PHP afterall ;)
muxPHP sucks so bad it sounded like a good idea to me when my friend told me about it
fastaWebsites mostly have simple logic, and the problem sizes are so small that good algorithms aren't necessary.
PHP has lots of bindings
=> practical
/=> it's good
muxI'd rather use Perl in that case
much more bindings/modules => more practical :-P
fastamux: PHP is for a different generation, I think
muxif you mean the generation that doesn't really want to code, I agree with you
dylanPHP is a worse language than perl. :P
fastaSays dylan... ;)
abzHaskell rules
dylangive me lambdas, or give me death!
I consider languages without lambdas to be crippled.
bd_dylan: I've heard PHP has a horrible hack involving passing code as a string... >.>
dylanbd_: that is not a lambda...
fastaI consider languaes without call-with-current-continuation crippled.
languages*
dylanthere's a perl module for call/cc, I think. :)
fastadylan: I am sure it's implemented in a Perl-like way
dylan: and if it isn't, I am interested
dylanI find I now implement (.) in most languages I use.
Eightyi keep writing (take n (repeat e)), is there a shorter way?
fastaEighty: replicate
bd_http://search.cpan.org/~mlehmann/Coro-2.5/ :)
lambdabotTitle: Marc Lehmann / Coro-2.5 - search.cpan.org
fasta> replicate 1 100
lambdabot[100]
fasta> replicate 122 100
lambdabot[100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100,100...
Eightythanks
bd_it looks more like coroutines than continuations as such, but maybe you can capture it somehow
dylan@pl \n e -> take n (repeat e)
