CaleI'm running Cabal 1.1.7
hxt
nomeataI need a module to have a table that spans the whole width, and I need a module that allows tables to span several tables.
ndmmalcolmw: and Matt next to me is working on Hacle+Clean as a benchmark, beats GHC in one test (looses in the others)
syntaxfreeI have such a bad luck with getting things compiled.
malcolmwndm: I noticed that nhc98 compiles its RTS with -O3, maybe yhc needs to do the same
nomeataI cant have both, and if, it doesnt work with multiple columns...
syntaxfreeI can't count on my fingers the number of things I wanted to try or hack on and couldn't get to build.
CaleThere's another command after the ar, it runs ld and it wasn't doing that because it stopped :)
Yeah, probably a good idea to upgrade Cabal then :)
syntaxfreelambdabot has been a frustration for months.
time and again I try to build it, to no avail.
matthew_-nomeata: it helpfully constrains you to presenting data piece by piece and not bombarding the user with data ;-)
nomeatamathrick: yes, but sometimes (only sometimes) I know whats better than latex. And then I think, that some things with LaTeX are just not right.
sorry
matthew-_: ^
matthew_-nomeata: yeah, the problem is that in this case, reinventing the wheel is close to a life-time's work
nomeataYes, I guess thats why we are stuck with LaTeX since a long while.
I mean, I like it a lot. But a little reform here and there would be nice.
ndmmalcolmw: how recently did nhc switch to -O3?
Cale!paste
hpasteHaskell paste bin: http://hpaste.org/
malcolmwndm: a long time ago - years.
emuwhat does need fixing in latex is the absurd difficulty of creating style files and documentclasses
hpasteCale pasted "link collector (for syntaxfree)" at http://hpaste.org/560
CaleIf anyone's thinking of writing a new document preparation system, please make it have a TeX backend :)
actiontfs wonders if malcolm is around
tfswonders if malcolm is around
malcolmwtfs: pong
tfshi malcolm, I can't get nhc98 cvs compiling on venice ...
Calesyntaxfree: you can see the basic idea there -- deep is used to traverse XML trees recursively, searching for matches to a query, and listA will collect the results obtained into a single list.
malcolmwtfs: do you mean CVS? or darcs?
tfsoh is there a darcs repo for it now?
Cale(normally, they're treated like in the list monad)
malcolmwtfs: darcs get --partial http://darcs.haskell.org/nhc98
lambdabotTitle: Index of /nhc98
tfsmalcolmw: ah, the nhc98 website needs updating :-)
malcolmwtfs: then "sh start; ./configure; make basic"
ndmmalcolmw: if the cvs isn't in sync, wouldn't it be better to delete it, so people don't get stale copies?
malcolmwndm: yup
ndm(we need to delete the www.cs Yhc repo as well!)
