ndmmalcolmw: is that hte lastest stable version, or the cvs version in /grp/haskell ?
shaprSo, what sort of exciting stuff is happening guys?
malcolmwndm: /grp/haskell has last night's nightly build
ndm: (I installed it just to be sure...)
actionnomeata is letting his fantasy run wild: Woulnt it be interesting to use Haskell with some nice functions and modules as a DSL to replace LaTeX...
nomeatais letting his fantasy run wild: Woulnt it be interesting to use Haskell with some nice functions and modules as a DSL to replace LaTeX...
TomMDshapr: I can't say it's exciting, but I've just moved from FC5 to Ubuntu and now I need to continue my Haskell hacking.
shaprTomMD: Hey, that's cool.
nomeataI very much prefer haskell syntax to latex syntax
Calesyntaxfree: you around?
TomMDInstalling ghc6.7 now.
CaleI prefer Haskell syntax to latex syntax for programming.
matthew_-nomeata: are you planning to use the tex engine?
nomeataIm not planning at all, just brainstorming.
But that would be the easiest option, yes.
CaleBut for writing mathematics documents, I think I'd go with latex :)
nomeataTrue, for formulas, even haskells syntax might be too verbose.
malcolmwndm: I think you need to add a -O option to yhc that switches on your cool specialisation stuff
kc5tjaTeX syntax is *almost* ideal for textual markup {\keyword content content ...} is almost perfect.
matthew_-nomeata: what don't you like about latex?
syntaxfreeCale: hey. Just arrived.
ndmmalcolmw: i do, just trying to figure out where the obvious performance has gone, before i start working from Yhc
CaleAh, I upgraded Cabal and it started working.
nomeatamatthew-_: that a lot of needed things are just hacks in modules
syntaxfreeyhc or hxt?
