osfameronthen again I see them as [box]FW, [box]FX etc.
earthyxpika: use CPP to transform into <-
osfameronso maybe it's just that my font doesn't include them
xpikaCPP?
earthythe C preprocessor. :)
quicksilverthe C Pre Processor
earthyyes, it's a nasty hack
xpikahow can i envoke it?
osfameroneither way, I think it's insane to use unicode in programming language source until all of these just work transparently and nicely everywhere
JohnMeachamanyone have some hidden markov model code for haskell?
donsget your haskell benchmarks, http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~dons/nobench.html

pjdearthy: ick
xpikagcc file.hs ?
JohnMeachamor anything that will aid in handwriting recognition actua
earthynope, ghc -cpp
JohnMeachamactually. I have this tablet pc thing that is annoying the hell out of me.
pjdisn't there a GHC option or patch for unicode symbols?
xpikaumm.. has anyone got a pre made header file for the chars :)
plz.
JohnMeachamI am thinking a personally trained HMM could make it decent. I don't mind training it. if it improves accuracy to the point I don't have to double check everything it does.
osfameronJohnMeacham: run Maemo Internet Table OS on it! Oh, wait, the handwriting recognition on that is probably even worse...
JohnMeachamso funny.

JohnMeachami am talking about my nokia 770.
osfameronJohnMeacham: ah! You said tablet PC :-) I have an N800, the recognition is terrible
JohnMeachamI already wrote a better keyboard for it. and I ported jhc specifically to it to write haskell programs for it. now I want to write some better UI for the thing.
pjdxpika: aha: http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/haskell-prime/wiki/UnicodeInHaskellSource

osfameronJohnMeacham: is your jhc port packaged anywhere? Oh, for 770, don't suppose that'll work unmodified on N800
JohnMeachamsort of like graffiti, but actally based on reporters shorthand, they used to tecah it in schools, it is designed to be damn fast to scribble atd I think it would be an excellent tablet input language.
pjdxpika: apparently jhc supports it, and ghc with -fglasgow-exts
JohnMeachamshould work on the N800. I don't have one. I think I might have had to tweak the headers a little. but it pretty much just worked.
osfameronok, I'll have to play with scratchbox in my CFT
JohnMeachamthe N800 has a floating point unit. you don't know how important a floating point unit is until you dont' have one. sigh.. hey, what sort of XInput events does the N800 give you? does it do tilt? or just pressure?
can you send me the output of /proc/cpuinfo? I am really curious. john@foo.net
osfameronno idea, sorry. Are you on #maemo ?
JohnMeachamno. I'll join.
ooh. that paper looks interesting. am reading.
