Niarbehtchristopherln: Less light than, say, fluxbox, more light than gnome
kel233sharp15:i had a look at mam [prtahe and it doesnt really say anything about it, maybe try looking again
portage*
Niarbehtchristopherln: Maybe a couple things more than enlightenment.
sharp15: Hmmmmm
christopherlnNiarbeht, how could i make my own desktop manager?
unityi am trying to set up wireless networking here, trying to steal connections from neighbors. with dhclient, i get No DHCPOFFERS received on all three essids i found here, and with dhcpcd, i get a timeout. does this mean something is wrong at the hardware-level or just that these are protected wireless networks?
Niarbehtchristopherln: With great difficulty. Start with a programming book.
grknightNiarbeht, we just never know what's up with e.. unlikely to see a new release any time soon from what i here
sharp15kel233: are you still at the command line? if not try entering "man:portage" into your window manager's run command. see what happens, though it may be nothing.
grknights/here/hear/
christopherlnNiarbeht, do I program it based on the X11 or start from scratch that would be fun.
kel233sharp15:it says bash command not found
Niarbehtchristopherln: That's your choice. Just remember that programming book first.
christopherlnNiarbeht, just a general programing book or a specific one?
sharp15kel233: oh. sorry. kde and gnome provide an xwindow viewer for reading man pages. can be much easier reading that way.
Niarbehtchristopherln: If you don't know how to program, I might recommend starting with general programming.
christopherln: Perhaps find a college class in your area...
sharp15kel233: try using this format for the package.keywords "<package catagory>/<package name> ~x86" that should unmask all versions of a package, except svn/cvs builds.
NiarbehtWell, flushing my firewall killed all my IP addy-specific rules, so I'm gonna have to reconnect.
sharp15Niarbeht: sorry.
NiarbehtThat's okay. I knew it was gonna happen.
I believe there's a way to see what rules are getting used. Just gotta remember...
grknightchristopherln, audacious reminds me a lot of WinAmp
[R]iptables will tell you the hit count of packets
kel233sharp15: thanks, but what would be the package catergory for the nvidia drivers?
Niarbehthead a-splode.
sharp15kel233: x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers
NiarbehtI just did netstat -a -b on my windows (this) box, and I've got about a trillion (overestimation, but close enough) connections being used by something.
I'll brb.....
sharp15this is getting frustrating.
[R]ndiswrapper is locking up my box... is there anything I can do about that?
sharp15[R]: other than complaining to the manufacturer about a lack of linux drivers?
[R]i'll just steal the other wireless adapter i guess
i know that one works
acxhey what use flag do I need to enable to get file transfers on kopete?
[R]acx: i dont see one
acx[R]: yea neither do i :-/ but kopete seems to have it lol
coido i need 3d accel to use transparency in X?
Aquahallicevenin' folks....
