david935Can't find those settings anymore.
kentinhello
JanisBHello, i was tried to update gcc, but "something goes wrong, omg!". At this moment i have working system with network access, but i cannot compile anything. gcc -v just hangs until i press CTRL+C. I was tried to untar gcc--3.4.4, but with same luck. What i can do to be able to compile something?
mattmattehjan2600, is the old gcc still there ?
JanisBnope, it is overwritten by 3.4.4
marienzJanisB: would be useful if you had strace already installed
and gcc upgrades don't normally overwrite like that
JanisB: if you have strace, strace gcc -v to see what it gets stuck on
JanisBi know, strace gcc -v gives me tons of text on screen, probably infinite loop...
MarkT-I put USE=odk in my use flags for openoffice and emerged it, but I can't seem to find the sdk directory.
marienzJanisB: pastebin the last 20 lines or so of output after ctrl+c-ing it
n|archvile_ircnick: no go, i copied the partition table though if you wanta take a look
Artumiis it possible to install gentoo from a floppy disk drive?
mattmattehasdfca, looks like a bug. dont think i can help. not familiar with ti
n|archvile_ircnick: http://paste-it.net/2164
JanisBmarienz, http://paste-it.net/2165
mattmattehArtumi, no. gentoo only has a live cd. is possible to boot another distro and then do the install. like dsl
marienzArtumi: somewhat. You can install gentoo from any running linux with network access and the ability to partition and format your drive. If you can find a linux rescue distro that runs from floppy you should be able to install from it.
_ircnickn|archvile , did you try to run a 'reiserfsck -rebuild-sb' on it?
marienzArtumi: I don't think gentoo itself provides something that boots from floppy, so you'll either have to put that together yourself or find a non-gentoo existing one (iirc there's a "damn small linux" that might work)
mattmattehArtumi, live and netboot i think. no floppy though
david935JanisB: How many profiles are listed when you type "gcc-config -l"?
n|archvile_ircnick: yeah and --rebuild-tree
Artumimattmatteh dsl doesnt boot from a floppy either
mattmattehArtumi, damn small linux doesnt boot from a floppy ?
marienzJanisB: bleh, some more please. If possible the first few dozen and last few dozen lines of output (might have to redirect to a file with 2>logfile to get the first few)
JanisBdavid935, 6 - 1:i486-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.1 *, and another 5 - i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.4.4
Artumimattmatteh nope it doesnt.
its 62 times larger than a floppy
marienzArtumi: I'm pretty sure there's still *something* around that boots fromm floppy, but I haven't searched recently.
david935Try typine "gcc-config 1" and see if that makes it better.
_ircnickn|archvile , what's the error message?
JanisBdavid-work
mattmattehArtumi, what are you installing on that can not boot a flopy ?
JanisBops
marienzArtumi: really anything that boots, has network access, fdisk, mkyourfavoritefs and chroot works
JanisBdavid935, 1 is already *`ed
Artumimarienz i dont need it to boot from a floppy.. i need something thats installer fliers can fit on floppies..
n|archvile_ircnick: when i mount it?
marienzArtumi: I don't understand the question.
