kojirothoth: was that a pure Gentoo install or something else, such as Sabayon?
antarusthat falls outside of my Ubuntu knowledge ;)
xfce`dawgthe other pc had a kernel panic and crashed
hareldvdwhen using kernel level alsa drivers, do I still need alsa-lib?
sPiNstarted emerge kde @ 4:30, when i last did this in 2k4 this took a good 12 hours at least, perhaps more like 18... wonder how long it will tkae this time on a somewhat faster machine
DrSlonyIm looking for a PDF viewer because KGhostView is displaying PDFs incorrectly, can anyone suggest anything (except xpdf)?
kojirosPiN: nooes!
Odiyeah... mine too...
antarussPiN: 24+ hours for me ;)
thothkojiro: sabayon 3.3.. and I just finished changing the chost flags from i586 to i686 and I was doing the emerge
antarusDrSlony: acroread
soloslingerToph4: so unless you have another drive to spare, if you are worried about your windows installation on the particular computer you are installing gentoo on, it might be wise not to do it at all
kojirosPiN: don't emerge kde, emerge kde-meta! (or less)
thoth: sigh
DraconxDrSlony, evince is OK, though xpdf is better imho.
sPiNkojiro, ut ohhh!
kojirothoth: I gather ACCEPT_KEYWORDS is set to something non-standard?
antaruskojiro: heh
Odibut please... do you think this is more a kernel issue... or can be a hal issue, for example...
antaruskojiro: I see nothing around here has changed ;)
sPiNim not familiar with kde-meta, is that just base kde packages i guess?
antarusOdi: I doubt it's a kernel issue
kojiroantarus: were you worried?
antaruskojiro: n o
Odior this gnome volume manager stuff
ctpxfce`dawg: hm ... have no hint whats going wrong there.
thothkojiro: ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"
ctpxfce`dawg: sry
kojiroantarus: things change, but very slowly
DraconxsPiN, it's the "everything package" with the split ebuilds.
kojirothoth: yeah, that's bad
actionantarus stabs sabyon in the face!
antarusstabs sabyon in the face!
sPiNantarus, what machine specs are you on?
kojirothoth: why is it set that way?
DrSlonyJesus, how can acroread take 739MB?
jeegerI am running Gentoo on a Gigabyte laptop, and all of a sudden, my console bell stopped working. It worked just fine, but suddenly it just was silent. I have looked in all configuration files and found nothing. Any tips anyone?
xfce`dawgctp: not sure y it wont mount, fsck says its clean, and i made 2 new directories
Melioratorantarus: ok, i tried ''mdadm --create --verbose --auto=md --level=0 --raid-devices=2 /dev/hdk1 /dev/hdl1'' and now it tells me that /dev/hdk1 does not exist (which it does) :S
