laynorEhnvis, I'll give it a try. The two users are on different machines though, and the directory is shared thru nfs
Ehnvislaynor: hmm then it wont work i think
laynorEhnvis, if I can give the same integer group number it could work I guess
Ehnvislaynor: its worth a try atleast
laynorEhnvis, but I don't know how :)
PeanutHorstok
icCEEhnvis: the problem was CONFIG_NF_CONNTRACK_IPV4
FordCortina(my cmos battery maybe screwed... but im setting up ntpd anyway...) i can't seem to find log files for ntpd in /var/log/ for ntpd, is there some setting I need to put for this to happen?
PeanutHorstwhere can I get a floppy disk image that I can boot off to direct the computer to boot off the SCSI CD-ROM drive?
laynorEhnvis, Should I give 070 permissions or 770 permissions?
yngwinPeanutHorst: slackware has a smart boot manager floppy image that u can use for that
laynorEhnvis, to the directory I mean..
PeanutHorstyngwin: where do I get that? I haven't touched SlackWare for a while...
Ehnvislaynor: 770 i think will be the best.
yngwinPeanutHorst: just browse through the slackware mirrors
i havent touched it in a while iether ;)
christopherlnHello All, could someone assist me on setting up my WPA
beandogok, why are ebuilds calling /bin/install
Monkehbeandog: hm?
soloslingerchristopherln: I could try, although i am having similar issues
christopherlnsoloslinger, i am using IPW3945
soloslingerchristopherln: okay
laynorEhnvis, too bad, when I create a new file in the new directory it's owned by user.user, and not group.user
beandogMonkeh: /bin/sh: line 6: /bin/install: No such file or directory
its /usr/bin/install
soloslingerchristopherln: what have you tried so far?
christopherlnsoloslinger, i just want to set up my WPA i have the driver installed. Loaded and configured its working.. I just need to figure out one if it already has an ip because i was doing this all night last night.
Monkehbeandog: I'm guessing that changed with the latest baselayout
beandogwell its happening in my chroot, of all places.
Ehnvislaynor: did you add the user to the new group and then did a logoff/logon to get the new groups loaded?
Monkehbeandog: I suspect it's faulty makefiles, not ebuilds
PeanutHorstyngwin: adaptec.s bootdisk?
soloslingerchristopherln: what does iwconfig say? did you/are you running dhcp?
beandogThats what I thought, but its doing it on all of em
FordCortinaah i found that log files setting for ntpd
christopherlnsoloslinger, yes i am running dhcp
soloslinger, it has a really long encryption key
Monkehbeandog: That's odd. Bugspree?
christopherlnsoloslinger, it claims it is connected via wifi but I don't see a IP Address
laynorEhnvis, yes, I added the group to the new user, i didn't logoff though, because "groups user" tells user belongs to the new group created
