jmbsvicettoYippMN: Yes, it's probably best
YippMN: to recompile kde with -arts
mark_alecAlias|: you're welcome
jmbsvicettobobber205: What did you do? Do you get any error?
Fenix|workpurple, in KDE when you go into desktop settings you then have to go to the screensaver section... there will be some sort of powersetting button that you can change default times
bobber205yeah. when I run ls I get "command not found"
purpleFenix|work i know that but i aint using kde
MrRatbobber205: source /etc/profile
AllenJB|2bobber205: What did you do right before this happened?
purplei set the power options in gnome but it stil goes black after 20 mins
YippMNjmbsvicetto, well that arts was -arts from the begining , ive only compiled klibs with arts for this kbilliards package , so i would just need to recompile klibs back with -arts :)
AllenJB|2bobber205: What does "/usr/bin/ls" do?
bobber205MrRat. that solved it
weird huh
MrRathe updated packages and etc-update
bobber205is there a gentoo wiki guide about updating world and system?
MrRatit moved
:)
untitledwhere can i read about xorg client-servers over tcp?
shdowhawkAlright then.. I've been playing with bind for about a day or two and for the life of my i can't get it to recognize my dns. I have godaddy pointing at my ip, and my router pushing all traffic and such to an internal address. I want to run my dns / webserver / mysql etc all on a single box (this is just my personal page) ... Can anyone help be config my named.conf / zone files? And maybe my host file if that needs to be
changed any?
suisidepurple: setterm -powersave off -blank 0
jmbsvicettoYippMN: yes
purplesuiside that goes for terminal
not for X
Fenix|workpurple, in XFCE I believe the screensaver section also has a power management part that you can change the defautls
defaults
purplei dont have screensaver part in xfce!?
!?
AllenJB|2MrRat: But it shouldn't move out of anywhere that's normally in PATH on Gentoo
jmbsvicettoAllenJB|2: Must have moved from /bin/ls to /usr/bin/ls
MrRatAllenJB, he logged in and it was in one place and it was installed to a diff one
AllenJB|2/usr/bin is under the default PATH tho isn't it?
(and always has been afaik)
krondorlSo I guess that no one knows if there is a utility in gentoo that monitors raid drives??
klynckrondorl: mdadm
suisidepurple: afaik unless you use a separate xscreensaver it's the same feature that blanks the screen both in X and in console, correct me if I'm wrong
jmbsvicettokrondorl: Depending on what you want, you may find the info on /proc or /sys
krondorlklync, thanks
jzono1krondorl: just take a peek in /proc or /sys - for md softraid, it's in /proc/mdstatus
