jmbsvicetto:)
roger55: I've installed the plugins and I still don't get the tab aligned list of nicks. Do you know if you set any option on the irssi config for that?
[sinz]Is there any way to get rid of the printing/pcap.c:pcap_cache_reload(159) error in samba logs if you're not using any printers?
crutemeI'm trying to compile mod_ssl for apache 1.37 (by hand) and its not linking correctly
anybody able to help?
the only way libssl.so will work is if i export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
HedgeMageI am trying to figure out why I get dropped to a grub console on boot (this is a new install)... my grub.conf is correct, I have 4 part's: /boot (extended 2), swap, /home (reiser fs), and / (reiserfs)...
kexmanttt, still here ? did you manage to make that work ?
TTTyeah
kexmanwhat was the problem ?
TTThad to mount /mnt/gentoo/proc
not dev
kexmanpfff
dev to !
TTThmm
kexmantold you to follow the guide and chroot properly
jmbsvicettoHedgeMage: You get the console before getting the menu? If so, make sure menu.lst is a symlink to grub.conf
TTTi never had to in the past
kexmanmount -o bind /dev /mnt/dev
Brian|lfsis anyone having random lockups in gentoo with the 6080i chipsetr
kexmanmount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev
TTTkexman: the 'guide' says nothing about chroot anymore
kexmani told you which guide to follow
TTTkexman: i mean, handbook...
Draconx|Laptopbinding dev isn't usually required, unless you want to run screen in the chroot.
TTTkexman: thanks
Draconx|Laptopthe stage tarballs include all the device nodes most systems need.
kexmanhttp://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?full=1 6. Installing the Gentoo Base System 6.a. Chrooting
Code Listing 4: Mounting /proc and /dev
TTTDraconx|Laptop: yeah :)
kexmanCode Listing 5: Chrooting into the new environment
jmbsvicettoDraconx|Laptop: If you have 3 SCSI/SATA disks or more, you need to bind dev - or to create the devices by hand
kexmanDraconx|Laptop, what you dont need dev ? what about if you do something else ? like compiling a kernel in a chroot ?
jmbsvicettoDraconx|Laptop: IIRC, the stage tarball only has sda and sdb devices
Draconx|Laptopjmbsvicetto, has to sdd
jmbsvicettoDraconx|Laptop: I thought it didn't. My bad
HedgeMagejmbsvicetto: it is... I think it's somehow filesystem related
