micromGuza: I have to go, remember the commands: lspci, lsmod, modprobe, ifconfig, /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start
DrEeevilDuClare: wondering because I have the same failure on only one machine ...
eregiCan any one help me with the phpmyadmin configuration?
RFC_1149Would managing a static /dev/ (maybe tarring it and restoring it on boot) and disabling udev (except where hw changes) improve boot time?
DuClareDrEeevil, reproduce like how? I have to do this every time (it used to work fine on my previous installations)
AllenJB|2RFC_1149: Doubt it
RFC_1149: Certainly gains would be minimal
remastereregi: /j #phpmyadmin ? :)
einvalrapterIm coding some stuff for the free worlds, i need someone good and use/have used freebsd and have knowledge about in which header file crypt(); resides in FreeBSD 6.1 (unistd.h) ?
_azaghalDuClare: Did you read my message?
DuClare_azaghal, is there a command to check if that already belongs to the runlevel?
DrEeevilDuClare: so it's not my computer acting up ... haven't managed to find the root cause yet
_azaghalDuClare: rc-update -s | grep alsasound
DuClare_azaghal, 'kay, alsasound is at boot
DrEeevil, yeh.. it's pretty annoying
RFC_1149thanks AllenJB
_azaghalDuClare: Hm... I've put it into default runlevel
DuClareDrEeevil, especially when I forget to restore the levels and they're pretty high up... my headphones break my ears :o
_azaghal, the gentoo/alsa guide uses runlevel boot for this
DrEeevilDuClare: what bugs me is that the alsa saved state looks correct
so it saves, just never restores - but why/how?
shade_hi
DrEeevilshade_: greetings
eregigeoaxis
_Gandalf_Hi guys
PCM(on) 13% |::::: |
geoaxiseregi: yes
_Gandalf_does anyone know any script/way to display on the screen the volume level ?? if you used (or know) ratpoison I'm trying to get (ratpoison -c "echo PCM(on) 13% |::::: |" ) working on fvwm or perhaps wmii too
DuClareDrEeevil, yeh, that is strange indeed.
_azaghalDuClare: Well, perhaps it needs to be in default? I'm really not sure (not much experience/knowledge about runlevels). You might want to add a custom script to the defaul runlevel (just a simple alsactl restore) to see if it will work?
einvalrapterif( *foo !=bar && foo!NULL?Null:"Doesnt wanna know" ) Fin :)
eregigeoaxis: I hawe setted up phpmyadmin, but I don't know the right wai to configure it. Can you gelp me? in priv.
DuClareDrEeevil, is there a way to "see" the init scripts running (as if you were running a program in ide+debugger line-by-line..)?
geoaxiseregi: its ok over here
el_skatiHi all, I try to update the dev-db/myodbc script but i am having some troubles with pkg_config script. The ${FILESDIR} var contains /var/db/pkg/dev-db/myodbc-3.51.14/files instead of the correct path. Is this a bug in portage or desired behaviour?
DrEeevilDuClare: hmmm ... they are bash scripts, you could add echo / sleep statements
el_skati: looks like a bug
geoaxiseregi: you need to set right options in phpmyadmin configuration
DuClare_azaghal, I don't know, the init script is being run anyway -- it's just that it doesn't restore
geoaxiseregi: first make sure your php, apache etc runs
