jmbsvicettobraetene: I assume no, no, no ;)
RiverRat: :)
hydrogenMAKEOPTS="-l 2.0" could be useful as well
jmbsvicettohydrogen: Is that for linking?
hydrogenno
jmbsvicettohydrogen: Sorry, ld, not linking
[sellout]jmbsvicetto: as you see, my ram is indeed full even according to free :-/
hydrogenthats don't run any new jobs if a job is going and the load is > 2.0
ShodoPanso it looks like a file in /var/lib/dhcpc is modifying my computer's hostname, but the scripts in /var/lib/dhcpcd are correct. What's the difference between these directories?
hydrogencombine with -j to not get huge amounts of load
jmbsvicetto[sellout]: That's usual on Linux - the question is what is filling it
hydrogen: Ah, good option
RiverRatShodoPan: Adjust that in /etc/conf.d/net (.example for details)
MorphiusWhat does that do?
hydrogenMAKEOPTS="-j -l 3.0" ... dynamic makeopts!
[sellout]jmbsvicetto: Exactly my delemma :-/
braetenehow can i tell if im currently using net.eth0 or net.eth1
buchanIs there any way to get rw access on a NFS share when you use 'insecure'?
RiverRatbraetene: ifconfig and look at the packet counts.
jmbsvicettobraetene: ifconfig -a
AdylasHello, I just compile a 2.6.20 and now (as I use snd_ice1724) I m hearing skip in all sound .. Someone have a clue ? Thanks
actionhydrogen tries it out
hydrogentries it out
braetenekk
[sellout]jmbsvicetto: if o do a top +x +M to organize by memory I only show a few apache processes taking up negligable amount of ram at the top.
jmbsvicetto[sellout]: Take a look at the second line of free
RiverRatAdylas: Yeah, I had to use the OSS emulation layer of ALSA to get rid of my popping sound.
jmbsvicetto[sellout]: -/+ ... in the free field
AdylasRiverRat, Hello, What sound card you have ?
[sellout]-/+ buffers/cache: 465364 479988
used/free
jmbsvicetto[sellout]: So you have 479M free
ShodoPanRiverRat: do you mean change the hostname, or change where it's looking for scripts?
RiverRat[sellout]: It is in cache and buffers. The kernel will let it go if it needs it for something else.
jmbsvicettoShodoPan: To change the behaviour
[sellout]RiverRat: is there a clean way to flush that?
RiverRatShodoPan: There is a dhcp option for getting the hostname from dhcp or not. adjust as needed.
aditsuhi, I have a laptop with a card reader, how can I access it in gentoo?
jmbsvicettoShodoPan: That is set on /etc/conf.d/net - you can look the details on /etc/conf.d/net.example
ShodoPanah, yes, just found it. Looks like 'nosendhost'.
[sellout]RiverRat: otherwise memory usage graphs will just keep going up till they max, then stay there...
