MorphiusJerr|sd: I've compiled my GCC 4 times, and I get sandbox errors at the end, during the 'install' phase, and I don't even have sandboxing enabled. :-(
[sellout]however top shows no processes are using more than 1% of ram
any ideas for tracing ram murderage?
braetenejmbsvicetto, is there still a use flag for firefox?
jmbsvicettohmm, did anyone reply to me after my comment to [sellout] ?
braetenejmbsvicetto, doesnt look like it
Morphiusjmbsvicetto: braetene wants to know if there is still a USE flag for firefox. :)
[sellout]hmm
braetenejmbsvicetto, oh yeah, lol

=D
[sellout]Any ideas for identifying mem leaks?
hydrogen/usr/portage/profiles/use.desc:firefox - Build against Firefox instead of Seamonkey/Mozilla
jmbsvicettobraetene: hehe
[sellout]Because again, top only accounts for about 10% of my mem usage now
if that
jmbsvicettobraetene: What use flag?
braetenejmbsvicetto, i think hydrogen pointed out what i wanted, but i cant find that use flag in the installer
jmbsvicetto[sellout]: If it was a program mem leak, it should appear on that program's mem usage
braetenejmbsvicetto, nm, im just blind apparently, this resolution sucks
jmbsvicettobraetene: grep firefox /usr/portage/profiles/use*
braetene: :)
[sellout]jmbsvicetto: That is what I figured, however i have 95% mem usage atm and top only shows a fraction of it...
braeteneok, i cant remember what MAKEOPTS is for
jmbsvicetto[sellout]: Look at free - your mem might be used by buffers or cache
braetene: Most times for setting the number of parallel gcc processes
braetenejmbsvicetto, k
jmbsvicettobraetene: MAKEOPTS="-j2" is a common option
braetenejmbsvicetto, and for kernel, should i just use gentoo-sources?
jmbsvicettobraetene: It's your choice. I personally use it
[sellout]total used free shared buffers cached

actionRiverRat is waiting for MAKEOPTS="working" to be valid.
RiverRatis waiting for MAKEOPTS="working" to be valid.
[sellout]@ jmbsvicetto
jmbsvicettobraetene: Do you have a SMP, HT, or multicore processor?
andrew[work]lol.
braetenejmbsvicetto, no
jmbsvicettoRiverRat: :)
RiverRatbraetene: yes/no is not a valid answer to a multiple choice question.
