greenmonsrullie: no problem
tulcodShafto: highly unstable
mattmattehunixlust, you need to find out why the mpd daemon stops. is it crashing ?
Shaftotulcod, They LIE!
tulcodShafto: the one in the gentoo repos isn't stable for daily use
lyamwhen i do emerge --info, it displays in USE="... LCD_DEVICES="..." ...". How to remove what LCD_DEVICES from there?
RiverRatlyam: Move it outside the USE variable in make.conf
cd_romlol
tulcodlyam: it's not a use flag, it's a variable, iirc
Shaftocd_rom, Im going catching up on sleep, this thing could take days
unixlustmattmatteh: hmm I don't know. I just restart it, because ncmpc stops playing and gives an error message that it has lost connection to 127.0.0.1. But when I do a netstat -tln, I can see port 6600 is still open on localhost.
tulcodlyam: yep
Shaftocd_rom, Finally we have movement
tulcodlyam: it's NOT a use flag
lyamso it isnt possible to remove it?
tulcodlyam: correct
mattmattehunixlust, is mpd still running though ?
tulcodunixlust: close firefox
unixlustmattmatteh: hmm I'll wait for it to happen again so I can tell you. Okay ?
tengilhow do i play an .iso or .img file with vlc?
unixlusttulcod: I don't even use ffox
tulcodunixlust: some other app has the sound output locked
unixlust: close as many programs as possible
warpzeroRiverRat, is switching from i386 to i686 really this bad?
tulcodtengil: not
cd_romShafto:kay
tulcodtengil: vlc is a media player. .iso and .img are archives
mattmattehunixlust, not sure i can fix it. try to get more info of the error/crash and post in a paste, then post here (not to me)
tengilok
unixlusttulcod: but it says it loses connection to the mpd daemon, not only it stops playing songs.
tulcod: ffox doesn't use mpd
RiverRatwarpzero: Not if you follow the guide others linked you to.
Shaftocd_rom, done, now to install the nvidia drivers, what else must i install, usually sommit to do with kernel aint there?
tulcodunixlust: got that. but other apps might lock sound output, which locks any tcp connections to mpd
warpzeroRiverRat, i am following it
RiverRatThen you should be fine
Priest-of-Psimpd++
cd_romShafto: that should be handling by emerge
so don't worry
warpzeroRiverRat, i didn't realize it would cause this many problems
