NiarbehtDuClare: The image isn't the problem
xushitar
NiarbehtDuClare: Let's just drop it
DuClareNiarbeht, ah, you mean syncing?
NiarbehtDuClare: I have everything quite well under control. This will be close to my tenth install.
krillinwell comcast told me I could have their cable internet service for a meir 3.3k
Niarbehtkrillin: LOL!
DuClareNiarbeht, okay
Niarbehtkrillin: If I had a job, I just might go for it.
laenmay be a stupid question.. but will xf86-video-vmware give a driver for better vmware performance, or for a linux client running in vmware, or what?
NiarbehtThanks anyways all, I'll just get back to my masochism... I mean... my installation... :-O
krillinNiarbeht: Maybe you could help me with my PPP problem?
Niarbehtkrillin: :-O Sure, I can try
krillinNiarbeht: Everytime I start my pppd my eth0 dies
Niarbehtkrillin: uhhhhh.
krillin: I, err, have no idea.
keoki_zeeanyone good with kernel + Xorg interaction that could help me out?
krillinNiarbeht: at least i'm not the only one! Thanx!
Niarbeht: very odd indead
*deed
Niarbehtkrillin: sure is. Any idea why every modem I try connects at/near 56k in windows, but not Linux?
NewCastleScottIm getting an error when I try to sync rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(107) what could I have done to cause this?
KimusanLSD` & jmbsvicetto Thank you very much. I'll look into that.
krillinNiarbeht: I'm a linux noobie.. I've been running linux for all of 2 weeks
Niarbehtkrillin: You started with Gentoo? You brave soul.
krillin: I'd been futzing about since Red Hat 6.1 all the way through FC4 before I tried Gentoo
krillinNiarbeht: I dabled in freeBSD some before I came to gentoo
Niarbehtkrillin: That'd help I suppose. If you'd said "I tried HURD first" I would've fallen out of my chair in disbelief. :-P
siimohi, whats a good GTK2 burning program? i've tried graveman and gnomebaker are there others
krillinNiarbeht: I guess I could have picked an easier distro to start with though
Niarbehtkrillin: Yeah. But now you know so much!
krillinNiarbeht: I've never even heard of HURD
Niarbehtkrillin: How many Ubuntu users know how to compile their own kernel?
krillinNiarbeht: this is true, but it has been a rough learning curve
keoki_zeeNiarbeht: I've been using Gentoo for about a year now, and I'm still spotty on the kernel-compilation business, but I'm definitely picking more and more up as I go along.
Niarbehtkrillin: HURD/HERD is, uhm, kinda vaporware. It predates Linux by a year I think. Some people think it's a Debian project, mistaking the fact that Debian is the only HURD distro for it being a Debian project. It's its own thing. it's wierd. Don't touch it if you want to stay sane.
NewCastleScottcan anyone help me solve the error Im getting when I try to --sync?rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(107) what could
i have done to cause this
Draconx|Laptopsiimo, k3b is pretty much the only decent gui burning program out there, but it's not GTK+.
krillinNiarbeht: I think I'll stay clear of that then
