moepmanwhy is beryl crashing my X after the reemerge
RiverRatmoepman: Because it is still in beta?
lng_RiverRat: can you suggest me which one should i compile?
[R]RiverRat++
grey_wolfkerframil: but how could i possibly be missing anything with default ACCEPT on all my chains?
kerframilgrey_wolf: well, you surely can't be ;)
vbhanu[R], xargs -d \n -0 rm -i < removelist continues to give the same error
:(
kerframilgrey_wolf: but, that such a simple test case doesn't work, is remarkable
[R]vbhanu: get rid of the 0
kerframilgrey_wolf: all the more that you say UDP and ICMP packets are dealt with appropriately
[R]vbhanu: and thats NOT what i said
RiverRatlng_: I can give you my config and you can compare them but other than that I don't know. Try them all I guess.
moepmanriverrat, it worked fine till i made an emerge world today
kernel_geekI get static on my speakers whenever alsasound is running. How do i stop this ??
grey_wolfkerframil: indeed. and iptstate is showing TIME_WAIT on all the outgoing TCP connections, as i already suspected.
[R]kernel_geek: lower the volume
lng_RiverRat: ok
kernel_geekits way low
[R]all of them?
kernel_geekyes
[R]weird
kernel_geeki am running 5.1
Flibberdykernel_geek: what soundcard/motherboard?
vbhanu[R] done :) thanks!
lng_RiverRat: is there any chanse it's not supported?
moepmancheck the wiring
grey_wolfkerframil: any resources you can recommend?
kerframilgrey_wolf: do the hosts that the firewall contacts on behalf of your clients respond with ACK followed by expected traffic?
RiverRatkernel_geek: I have a few programs that sound horrible with ALSA but sound fine with the OSS emulation in ALSA.
kernel_geeknforce 2 onboard sound asus deluexe/socket a mmobo or something. One sec i will just go find the manual
But i am not running any programs
RiverRatlng_: Yes, that's what Google is for. Although nVidia is pretty good at standard stuff. (this isn't video)
grey_wolfkerframil: as far as i can tell, yes. in tcpdump, i normally see the ACK and then all goes silent
kerframilgrey_wolf: hmm :/
RiverRatkernel_geek: It sounds like you have the wrong sound card selected.
kernel_geekwhat ??
i only have one sound card
and also it works it just produces noise
kerframilgrey_wolf: I'm out of ideas for the moment, but this is clearly related to connection tracking
