FalconKirtaranhmm... cups is not my specialty at all.
dasdajsokay
kaizokuphoenixx: The troubleshooting guide at DRI's website mentioned that, but I tried recompiling the x11-drm modules, and it didn't help.

Mad_ScientistI'm getting a problem with kde where a lot of services and stuff arnt starting even if I re-emerge them is there any way to do a clean reinstall of kde?
dasdajsis there an alternative to cups?
JeffATLdasdajs: lprng
Mad_Scientistwould i just need to unmerge kde then emerge it again? I have kde 3.4 install to and i think that may be causeing some problems
AllenJB|2dasdajs: Why would you need an alternative to cups?
azazelloMad_Scientist: did you run revdep-rebuild?
dasdajsAllenJB|2 cause my lexmark x75 doesn't work in cups
AllenJB|2Mad_Scientist: I'd look for other cuases first. If it's a lot of KDE related packages, the problem could be in kdelibs or one of its dependencies. As azazello suggests, revdep-rebuild might pick up something
ShaftoAny really good image editors other than GIMP?
FieldyShafto: in the *nix world that's pretty much the king
hardcampanot a visual one.. but Imagemagick is great for scripting against and such

Lysgaard31NeddySeagoon Ok, what should i do with the make.conf I know its basics but I never used linux before and Gentoo sounds so much better than all these other distros so i really want to get this going.
