ArmOrAttAkhow is it the first line in the script i put echo wth
mptechDoes xen-sources include all the patches from gentoo-sources as well?
ArmOrAttAkrun it and first output is caching dependencies
laser-ArmOrAttAk: does apache have a "verbose" flag? try changing the init script so that it passes that flag to the apache exec
ArmOrAttAki'm sure i'm not the first to have this problem

brokemyXhey, i need some help.. i just finished installing gentoo, and now i can't boot i get this error: Error 15: file not found press any key to continue
laser-the version you are looking for is unstable. if you really want it: echo net-www/apache >> /etc/portage/package.keywords && emerge apache
brokemyXOH god.. i know what i did.. how do i edit the boot commands? and save them after?
laser-brokemyX: are you using grub?
n0deah, so its there, but in testing atm.. and then will be avaliable once its stable.. ?
chitheadbrokemyX: you have to edit /boot/grub/grub.conf
laser-brokemyX: the bootloader instructs you how to edit boot options. do that, once in your system do what chithead said
brokemyXyea i gotcha
laser-n0de: perhaps
n0delaser-: does ~ before an arch mean its testing?
brokemyXalso.. in the one conf where you can enable kde gnome and all that.. i think its rc.conf.. did i have to uncomment it?
its' giving me some errors when booting, but its not affecint the boot just saying it can't start.
laser-n0de: more or less
n0dewkd
well thanks all u guys... always a wealth of information!
laser-brokemyX: "some errors" tells us nothing useful
brokemyXlaser-: well sorry can't read that fast.. also i cannot get into /etc/boot/grub/grub.conf
chitheadbrokemyX: it's not in /etc
laser-brokemyX: ..
yea
brokemyXlaser-: oh god
lol
laser-brokemyX: is this a new install?
brokemyXlaser-: wat the hell is wrong with this gentoo.. its not in /boot/grub/grub.conf either
laser-: yea my second time already.. today.. its annoying.
lonexbrokemyX: mount /boot
brokemyXok
laser-brokemyX: and did you emerge KDE ?
brokemyXalready mounted
Alex|can I prevent dhcpcd (or the net init.d script) to write to resolv.conf?
brokemyXlaser-: umm no.. i haven't even gotten there yet this was my first reboot
lonexAlex|: yes, dhcpcd takes options, and they're configureable via /etc/conf.d/net
brokemyXlaser-: and the last install i couldn't add a user it gave me an erorr that the groups i wanted, plugdev and games didn't exist.. so i was like..ok i'll reinstall from scratch
