jvaHi! I have a very weird problem. I've installed Gentoo 2006.1 on my x86-laptop and it's acting weird about the hardware. For example, it finds the network card (module: tg3) but eth0 isn't working at all, but eth1 is. To be more clear, dmesg says both eth0 and eth1 is the same card but eth1 is the only thing working.
Why create two instances of the network card and one of them not working!? It feels like a baselayout <-> udev problem?
defacejvA - have you checked udev persistancy ?
chitheadJvA: do you have more than one network card?
jvachithead: Got only one network card.
deface: What do you mean?
Same goes for the sound card.
dmesg says ALSA has found it, but alsamixer and cat /proc/asound/cards says "no sound cards"
rulliesomething's up with the new baselayout?
ShaftoOkay I got no paste but how do i use it?
chitheadJvA: then it's udev as deface said. check udev /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
rullieShafto: nopaste <file>
Shaftorullie, So i save in a textfile?
LinuxDoltalsa is still buggy as heck with one of my sound cards... i can never get my aureon 7.1 universe to work consistently.
jvachithead: Ok. If it's any help, I'm using udev-108 and baselayout-1.12.10-r2.
LinuxDoltand i'm running the still masked rc3
Fenix|workMorning
jvaThe system was compiled using -Os -march=pentium-m -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe.
Fenix|workAnyone have any ideas on how to get a Xerox Phaser 8500N up and running?
KimusanJvA: hey, mate
jvaKimusan: Hi :
:)
chithead: Located the network problem, thanks!
NewCastleScottrullie I can mount manually but how do I direct the gnome gui to see the drives?
jvaIs it possible to make udev do all changes to the system without restarting the computer?
rullieNewCastleScott: go to ur mount point in nautilus?
NewCastleScottrullie whare do I find it?
rullieNewCastleScott: didn't you type mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/point ?
chitheadFieldy: I was able to convert the 195,330,838 bytes jpeg2k file with jasper. maybe you file was corrupt? md5sum 7eecfbcbd8156919caa0e86fd4abc6b0
