|DuClare||Ello... many dialogs in kde applications cause a freeze under xfce what should I do?|

|chithead||Shafto: use pastebin from command line|
|rullie||Shafto: lets u paste files on web|

|jva||Hi! I have a very weird problem. I've installed Gentoo 2006.1 on my x86-laptop and it's acting weird about the hardware. For example, it finds the network card (module: tg3) but eth0 isn't working at all, but eth1 is. To be more clear, dmesg says both eth0 and eth1 is the same card but eth1 is the only thing working.|
Why create two instances of the network card and one of them not working!? It feels like a baselayout <-> udev problem?
|deface||jvA - have you checked udev persistancy ?|
|chithead||JvA: do you have more than one network card?|
|jva||chithead: Got only one network card.|
deface: What do you mean?
Same goes for the sound card.
dmesg says ALSA has found it, but alsamixer and cat /proc/asound/cards says "no sound cards"
|rullie||something's up with the new baselayout?|
|Shafto||Okay I got no paste but how do i use it?|
|chithead||JvA: then it's udev as deface said. check udev /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules|
|rullie||Shafto: nopaste <file>|
|Shafto||rullie, So i save in a textfile?|
|LinuxDolt||alsa is still buggy as heck with one of my sound cards... i can never get my aureon 7.1 universe to work consistently.|
|jva||chithead: Ok. If it's any help, I'm using udev-108 and baselayout-1.12.10-r2.|
|LinuxDolt||and i'm running the still masked rc3|
|jva||The system was compiled using -Os -march=pentium-m -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe.|
|Fenix|work||Anyone have any ideas on how to get a Xerox Phaser 8500N up and running?|
|Kimusan||JvA: hey, mate|
|jva||Kimusan: Hi :|
chithead: Located the network problem, thanks!
|NewCastleScott||rullie I can mount manually but how do I direct the gnome gui to see the drives?|
|jva||Is it possible to make udev do all changes to the system without restarting the computer?|
|rullie||NewCastleScott: go to ur mount point in nautilus?|
|NewCastleScott||rullie whare do I find it?|
|rullie||NewCastleScott: didn't you type mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/point ?|
|chithead||Fieldy: I was able to convert the 195,330,838 bytes jpeg2k file with jasper. maybe you file was corrupt? md5sum 7eecfbcbd8156919caa0e86fd4abc6b0|
