nyk2005What could be a reason that my samba connection (though my local network) is suddently extremely Slow?
Fieldyhi, i'm looking for a way to either view or convert a .jp2 (jpeg2000) file in linux. i have tried several things, the details of which are here: http://rafb.net/p/y53jt930.txt
chitheadFieldy: ok, 300 mb is too much. I have so far only tried the test images from http://gemal.dk/browserspy/images.html (displays fine in konqueror :-) )
joakimi try to run emerge -uD world
anbd i get error on update ...is like this :
rullieFieldy: there's a openjpeg pkg in portage
Fieldyhadn't thought of trying to view it in konq, though gwenview certainly doesn't support it
joakimhttp://rafb.net/p/SGLwbm64.html
Fieldyrullie: yep, that's what the jp2 plugin in gimp required. but the plugin crashes 100% of the time on any load
joakimhow can i fix that?
rulliejoakim: find a better mirror
likewhoaFieldy: i can try to reproduce here, wanna link me to your jp2 image?
joakimhow can i get emerge to use that ?
rulliemzbot: google joakim gentoo mirror
mzbotjoakim: http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml
likewhoajoakim: also emerge mirror-select
Shaftojoakim, Edit /etc/make.conf and add the line GENTOO_MIRROR="<insert mirror>"
joakim, Edit /etc/make.conf and add the line GENTOO_MIRRORS="<insert mirror>"*

joakimhave u somting good to me ;)
LadyNikoncan gentoo do rpm's?
rullieLadyNikon: why
LadyNikonrullie: cause i want to run a program that uses rpm's?
likewhoaLadyNikon: no, but you can make an ebuild that installs from an rpm that gets extracted
rullieLadyNikon: there's probably a equivalent in portage
LadyNikonrullie: no there isnt.
likewhoaLadyNikon: look at the function to extract the rpm contents at /usr/portage/eclass/rpm.eclass
