linxI've got a problem with my xorg-server and the nvidia-drivers. X wont start if I enable the glx module and my whole pc freezes
milliganitguru, afaik, you can chose the letter winblows should use ... but there is also a way to change it once windows is installed.. I'll be damned if I remember where though :P
Namthere we go, thanks AllenJB|2
Stonefishmilligan: Disk management
admin tools
chitheaddasdajs: whether you need samba at all depends on the kind of print server you want to set up
[DejaVu]Ycarenemilligan: it's in disk management. It's been so long since i've fiddled with the windows internals that I can't remember how though.
itgurumilligan: I'm going to make only one NTFS partition avalible, and hide all the rest, then install the Grub bootloader, and make it swap the drives around
I think that should do it
dasdajschithead, I want to be able to print from windows and from unix
chitheaddasdajs: you certainly don't need to modify your kernel
itgurubut thanks milligan, for getting me thinking in the right direction
chitheaddasdajs: you can do it with cups alone
dasdajsokay thanks :]
milliganStonefish, [DejaVu]Ycarene , thanks :)
[DejaVu]Ycarenemilligan: The thing is, technically, not even windows really uses drive letters, it's just a construct that's tacked on to make it more familiar to those who've used dos through windows me.
dasdajschithead, so should I enable samba support when installing cups?
milligan[DejaVu]Ycarene, I see ... Im not very familiar with that stuff to be honest .. I preffer the way linux does stuff though..
chitheaddasdajs: I think that is just for cups clients connecting to samba shared printers
dasdajsokay
linxCant anybody help me? :(
Bardamukaytoo yes
i add that
milliganlinx, I did my glx with fglrx and ati drivers, sorry.
linxmiligan, okay, thanks
[sellout]Anyone know the best way to keep 2 directories in constant sync with each other, as opposed to running rsync at set intervals. IS there a way to have a service that monitors 2 folders for changes and keeps them in sync by newest changes?
milligan[sellout], raid ;)
err
nvm
bush^genthow can I make emerge get sources from a different mirror
emerge yaboot keeps failing HTTP 404 error
DrEeevilbush^gent: mirrorselect can fix that
[DejaVu]YcareneCan't you edit make.conf with a different mirror? (I'm not sure, can you?)
DrEeevilbush^gent: or a setting in /etc/make.conf, but I can't remember the exact name
bush^gentcan I run it chrooted or should I exit chroot then run it and r enter
DrEeevilboth ;-)
bush^gentok sweet, thanks :}
xoredguys i guys my raid is down, its not mounted anymore. how would i tet it ?
DrEeevilxored: mdadm --assemble maybe ?
[sellout]milligan: I have 2 directories, one is the locally hosted /var/www and the other is the sshfs mounted remote /var/www I need to keep these in constant sync so round robin an be effective... Thats the plan anyway
