zzamwe need RESTRICT="physical-copies" :D
xororand:)
CoolMcGrrrzzam, yes terminal does support uft-8
zzamCoolMcGrrr: and the locale you try to use really exists?
CoolMcGrrr: running locale should show if it does not
eTangenThey there... I just installed Gentoo (hooray!), but I can't get wireless working. I get an error when I try to modprobe ipw2200, saying the module can't be found.
CoolMcGrrrzzam, locale shows env vars and no errors
milliganeTangenT, did you compile the ipw2200BG driver as a module? :)
eTangenTmilligan, I compiled the kernel with ipw2200bg as a module, then I did emerge ipw2200-firmware
I followed this topic: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-545406-highlight-ipw2200.html
CoolMcGrrrzzam, could it be that im using en_US.UTF-8 for all and should be using da_DK.utf-8 for some of them (still wan't errors/messages to be in english)
zzamCoolMcGrrr: that should normally make no difference for utf8 on/off
CoolMcGrrr: but you should have your kbd layout set correctly
milliganeTangenT, did you do make && make modules_install after configuring the kernel ?
eTangenTgah
I did make, not make modules_install
milliganvoila :)
TheCoopanyone else having digest problems with shorewall's changelog?
eTangenTalright, I'll be back then
thank you
milliganwait a asec
eTangenTeh?
milliganI dont think you need to reboot to be honest.
I think, if you go to /usr/src/linux, you can just type make modules_install now ...
then you could try to modprobe.
eTangenTalright
milliganI'm not 100% about that though.
eTangenTwhoa
that worked. awesome!
milligan++
CoolMcGrrrzzam, yes ??? works fine in all applications, example if i write ??? in emacs and save the file and try to open it with nano (in terminal) i get ??????????
zzamI just see your special chars as "???"
milliganeTangenT, awesome :)
eTangenTAnyways, thanks guys. Now to get X and KDE going later. :)
zzamCoolMcGrrr: that sounds like you need some cmd-line-parameter to switch the term to utf8
eTangenTBe back whenever.
yupok /dev/initctl, i'm using ramdisk, and busybox's init from ramdisk is executed and it has halt() on SIGUSR1 :-/ ...
dragonheartxororand: probably ok - email gentoo-dev with a url for a more considered opinion
xororanddragonheart: okay thanks, i'll do that
