fromautumn2ashpix_1: my motherboard has no onboard video and my BIOS still asks about it. it also asks if its PCI or AGP
tha_gamemasteranyone using the wintv 500? i can't get composite video to work
numisthow does one get their machine arch for their cflags? I'm on an older G4, stuck in OSX...
fromautumn2ashpix_1: does your bootsplash work?
pix_1yeap
im using nv driver..
fromautumn2ashpix_1: in the kernel?
pix_1but i want to upgrade nvidia..drv
mjrosenbpix_1 I don't think NVidia's module likes anything that comes with the linux kernel
coco_kid594I think that is one of the best tips. I know if you run alot of networked stuff. esp. if a service doesn't want to boot up because of a taken port. what do you think?
tha_gamemasternumist: try #gentoo-ppc
fromautumn2ashmjrosenb: your correct.
kev009what is the most common linux tftp server?
mjrosenbkev009 tftp-hpa
pix_1and..
coco_kid594i use vsftpd for ftp.
milligankev009, vsftpd is very good if you want something up and running fast ... raiden is also pretty good.
coco_kid594works well easy to confgiure. one of the problems I had with vsftpd is passive mode doesn't seem to work. But my kernel is way old.
moepmaneverytime i boot my system, my sound is muted, how can i save the state of my soundcard?
fromautumn2ashpix_1: cd into your /usr/src/linux and through a more .config |grep NV
blackaceatftp is extremely simple, nice in my opinion
Constrabushow do i unmask a package (namely nvidia-drivers)
[R]Constrabus: its covered in the handbook... package.keywords
blackacemoepman: rc-update add alsasound default
mjrosenbpix_1 It looks like you have 2 problems. . . you've gotten rid of NVidia's drivers, and you have the nv linux drivers.
kev009I need it for bootstraping a Cisco VoIP phone and some systems
blackacemzbot: gentoo moepman alsa guide
mzbotmoepman: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml
coco_kid594Another good thing to use is apaache if you dont plan on sending whole folders but just single files apache works well.
[R]its amazing the reading skills in this room... he said Tftp...
mjrosenbkev009: dnsmasq can be a dhcp server, dns server, and tftp server
pix_1CONFIG_INIT_ENV_ARG_LIMIT=32....CONFIG_X86_INVLPG=y.....CONFIG_SATA_NV=y......# CONFIG_NVRAM is not set....# CONFIG_AGP_NVIDIA is not set
kev009mjrosenb: already have a router, just need dhcp and tftp
fromautumn2ashpix_1: what uname -a out put?
mjrosenb[R] hey, I said tftp-hpa
moepmanblackace: thx, works
[R]mjrosenb: which was a good answer
blackacenollidj: np
grr
kev009I'm trying tftp-hpa now
