Vegeetawhere is syslog?
hhurtta/var/log/messages?
NDAKOTAde, yea, it just asks me to partition the disk but didn't ask for destination
grknightVegeeta, /var/log/messages is the usual place
james541nn-knoppix, seems to work ok
grknightVegeeta, you can tweak it to do other places though
defacendakota - thats why your better off not using the gui installer
richiefrich_Iwonder_: ok no skippage
JeffATLif i do that - bear in mind that nominally i boot from sda1 and would only boot from sdb1 if sda were broken - in grub wouldn't i do root (hd0,0) / setup (hd1) / quit?
dotdotdotjames541 http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-543623-highlight-gtklibs+amd64.html
Vegeetagrknight: it's just strange, it'll go if i send it to example. emerge.gentoo.org, but not gentoo.org
JeffATLidea being that if sda were dead, what is usually sdb would become sda?
_Iwonder_cool
dotdotdotjames541 does that relate to you?
richiefrichi cant explain it
JeffATLand therefore (hd0,0)?
richiefrich_Iwonder_: i wonder it is the kernel
_Iwonder_was gonna ask about nfs filesystem support error possibly
NDAKOTAdeface, thank you for reminding me this, or I will be just Wasting time
richiefrich_Iwonder_: well it is git sources
defacendakota - yeah, time waster on the gui :(
Vegeetagrknight: it says line 2 is missing..
_Iwonder_which kernel?
richiefrichLinux candy 2.6.20-rc2-git1-Twins #12 SMP Wed Apr 11 15:18:07 EDT 2007 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
Vegeeta= after attribute name.
evilbulgarianhi, anyone using "-fvisibility-inlines-hidden" on an amd64 x2 how unstable is it im getting warnings when emerging apps?
_Iwonder_Linux seven 2.6.17-gentoo-r8 #6 SMP PREEMPT Fri Oct 27 00:31:01 Local time zone must be set-- i686 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 2800+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
grknightVegeeta, i'm about done for tonight.. i suggest reading up on postfix to asking in #postfix... but that pastebin is my exact config
s/to/or
[sellout]Anyone know how to tell if a machine is 64 bit capable from /proc/cpuinfo. I got a semperon on a remote box and i hav eno way of seeing the hardware phsyically... kind of a pain.
james541no, the thread doesn't, it is about bad font rendering as opposed to no font rendering
Vegeetagrknight: thanks
richiefrich_Iwonder_: not running 64bit why not?
james541and re-emerging the 32-bit package did the trick
richiefrich_Iwonder_: and no timezone :\
james541it all seems to work now
_Iwonder_at the time i loaded it originally 64bit was buggy as hell and about half the apps were masked or had to be loaded with 32 but compaibilty
dotdotdotjames541 i thought thats what was your problem
grknightVegeeta, and i would wget that file and not copy paste it... seen many things go wrong that way
