nollidjBlue89: gotcha. what does `xdpyinfo | grep resolution` say ?
gentoodudebmp
Vinkydragonheart, bad permissions was the cause
gentoodudelemme google and see it
DisloCPUFreak91, another thing to think about is that the mb is much mor serviceable than the mbp
nollidjBlue89: also, what is your desktop environment (gnome, kde, none of the above)?
dragonheartVinky: glad you found it
Blue89resolution: 58x73 dots per inch
I have gnome installed, but I don't use it ever
gentooduderoger55: stonefish yeah its beep media player
Blue89I am using fluxbox
gentoodudehmm
overkDislo, i've copied the first entry, and changed the kernel and initrd that i created
Dislooverk, ok and the second one is the one that you made right
pleedroger55 i have ahci sata support and nvidia sata support built-in. can that be in conflict?
overkyes
gentoodudeStonefish: you say its dead? what about xmms, i thought that was dead. eh thats what happens when you step outta the linux know for a while
rabidphagei cant find the en_UK locale in /etc/locale.gen however, it is one of the supported combinations.. can i just add it to locale.gen?
overkthe second is the one i made... and its the one with problems lol
Dislooverk, did you use genkernel or did you hand compile it
overkhand compiled
nollidjBlue89: i don't know a lot of specifics about it, but you should probably look on google for things to up the resolution your x server uses. that will increase font sizes for you.
roger55pleed, I'm not sure, there might be something you're missing in addition to that. neddyseagoon might now when he's back
pleed, or someone else
nollidjBlue89: i get some results that look promising from 'x server font dpi'
overkDislo, with a config file of a friend of mine...
gentoodudeany recommended video/music player that is on the lite side?
roger55pleed, have you tried just adding doscsi dosata to the end of your kernel line in grub.conf?
overkDislo, i've just changed the CPU Family to AthlonXP
Blue89nollidj, you mean REDUCE the resolution, right? making it bigger would make my problem worse
pleedroger55 yes i did
rabidphagegentoodude: audacious is pretty good..
fork of bmp
Dislooverk, ok well could i get a ll of your /boot directory
nollidjBlue89: no, i don't think so... from the docs i have just looked at, increasing the dpi will also increase font sizes
gnoobIs there any reason to not set my display to 32-bit color?
actiongentoodude googles audacious
gentoodudegoogles audacious
Blue89oh, you mean the DPI, not the screen size
nollidjsomething about basing font size on the resolution
