hoze_so with broadcom support not included with the kernel. Does that mean ndiswrapper is not necessary? I would just neest to install and configure WPA_supplicant?
rullieQ: is it wise to have the dbus USE in make.conf?

Dislopx, now when i run a /etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart it goes and does all the normal things but when it say config not set for eth0 assuming dhcp the next line says no dhcp client installed
roger55farhod, you don't need ndiswrapper to use native drivers.
hoze_is WPA_supplicant included on any of the gentoo install discs?
cruxeternusDislo: You need to emerge dhcpcd
Dislo: Or some other DHCP client. But that's the recommended one.
dzDislo: or any other dhcp client you might like better
Damm_Constrabus: it tells you what's wrong, either wrong version of ncurses found, or not installed, so -readline or whatever the use you added that makes it want ncurses
Dislopx, now when i run dhcpcd eth0
pxDislo: it defaults to dhcp if there is no config info
Dislopx, when i run dhcpcd eth0 it works and pulls down a ip and everything
uddislo try updating your config files in /etc?
just a guess, worked for me ;)
pxDislo: ok, so everything is fine?
ConstrabusDamm_ HOw do I know what version it wants. It is installed. ANd I would -ncurses but someone told me not to.

igli"the next line says no dhcp client installed" means that's not the issue
hoze_is http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=4&chap=4 the best documentation for setting up wireless with gentoo? Seems to rely on the fact you already have a connection of some sort
pxDislo: go read the /etc/conf.d/net.example
