nanonymemeh
Myagykerframil: sure
RobbieABNDAKOTA: do you know whatI IP you recieved on the liveCD?
ChicagoPraise: I see... well congrats on having it all working. :]
brokemyx2BigJ: WOW i hat 0 and O in gentoo they look the same..lol here is the pastebin for my error BigJ: http://rafb.net/p/6SO5Ir60.html
nanonymei can't google on how to get rid of the (-multilib) because google's search algorithm has been broken >_<
"(-multilib)" means the same as "multilib" nowadays
Dislohey guys so i have a problem i made a complete gentoo install in a virtual machine and i forgot to emerge dhcpcd before i restarted so long story short now it wont use dhcp at all help me please
Myagykerframil: here http://pastebin.ca/438928
RobbieABnanonyme: I think you need a multilib profile.
nanonymeRobbieAB: i thought i have one
bunkacidDislo: set a static IP?
BigJbrokemyx2, it's saying that cairo needs to be compiled with the X flag so emerge -uNva. u means update and N new use flags
RobbieABnanonyme: not if it is masked off you don't...
ChicagoDislo: You can set an IP on the kernel call from Grub...
BigJbrokemyx2, then go back to emerging the package u just got the error for
nanonyme/etc/make.profile -> ../usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/amd64/2006.1/
doesn't point to no-multilib
kerframilMyagy: and no mention of busybox in /etc/passwd? grep busybox /etc/passwd
BigJbrokemyx2, u would probably be better to emerge -uDNva world so that any programs that need the X flag will be compiled with that option since they weren't previously compiled with it
nanonymeso i should have multilib
Farhodbrokemyx2, Just Put X flag to your use variable in /etc/make.conf
nanonymeas far as any doc i have come up with says
brokemyx2ok BigJ do i need the internet for that?
kerframilnanonyme: that's right, you have a multilib enabled profile (that's why the multilib flag is use masked)
BigJbrokemyx2, probably not
brokemyx2i hate moving internet over...
BigJbrokemyx2, you might
Myagykerframil: grep busybox /etc/passwd returns nothing
nanonymekerframil: ah, it's that way
BigJare in chroot?
during install?
nanonymeso it's always on?
Dislobunkacid, Chicago, yeah but i need to get dhcp working this is supposed to be a base install for some virtual servers and it needs to work so i need to fix dhcp not just get a workaround
kerframilMyagy: what does ls -l /bin/sh say?
ChicagoDislo: Then boot with a liveCD and chroot into your installation and then emerge DHCP
bunkacidDislo: set the static IP, then you'll have net access to do your emerge.
Myagy# ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Apr 5 18:02 /bin/sh -> bash
brokemyx2BigJ: too clarify is the command: emerge -uDNva world
