miraageanyone know how i can pervent windows from setting bootable flags in my partition table? it switches the partitition it's installed on to be bootable and grub stops loading.
brokemyXin a fixmygentoo sort of way
roger55miraage, maybe it's not windows but grub doing that? pastebin your grub.conf please at rafb.net/paste
FunnyMan3595brokemyX: Getting it set up to show XFCE can be a little tricky, but nothing by comparison to getting X working. It's all rote stuff.
TheDarkOnewhat's a tool to strip a file of it's ID3 tags?
brokemyXFunnyMan3595: ok, well i hope it all goes according to the guide..:D hehe else i'll be back here :)

brokemyXFunnyMan3595: so ya say there is nothign else wrong with my conf? or anything.. so im all set and good to go ?
FunnyMan3595brokemyX: You might be missing direct rendering yet. That can be tricky.
brokemyXFunnyMan3595: but that can be fixed later, i don't need it right to install at least a working interface lol
FunnyMan3595: am i right or wrong?
FunnyMan3595brokemyX: But it's a solid baseline. Save a backup copy of it, in case you make changes later and regret them.

FunnyMan3595brokemyX: cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.working
