imperfect-BenB: Tell me.
BenB?
feAR`hi
imperfect-BenB: If I go from... 10.1.1.3 to 10.1.1.1 and I'm wanting 10.100.*
CoolMcGrrranyone who has had problems with utf-8 and xfce-extra/terminal? i can't seem to get it to show any special chars like "????" and so on!
imperfect-BenB: I go to 10.1.1.2 cuz that's the the default route
enycanAngel: Linux based router?
imperfect-BenB: Which sends me back to 10.1.1.1 which wants to send me to 10.1.1.2 cuz that's the default route
anAngelenyc: Yes
imperfect-BenB: Repeat until we're dead?
Draconx|LaptopCoolMcGrrr, have you followed the utf-8 guide on gentoo.org?
BenBimperfect-: no, until the power goes out.... tryign to follow you
imperfect-BenB: looks loop-a-licious to me.
BenB: Okay you're trying to get toa 10.100 addy from 10.1.1.3. So you ping. It says go to 10.1.1.1 cuz that's what the table says.
BenB: Go to 10.1.1.1 and it says for 10.100.x.x go to 10.1.1.2
anAngelenyc: i mean how can i see how much simultaneous connections are established trough the router
enycanAngel: hrrm... i used to do this with ipchains... erm iptables .. hrrm.... cant be too hard ;-)
CoolMcGrrrDraconx|Laptop, yes i have
BenBimperfect-: I don't see how 10.1.1.2 would send me back to 10.1.1.1
imperfect-: it has a rule for 100.10.*.*
imperfect-BenB: at 10.1.1.2 you have a 10.100.0.0 going to * which will go down to default ;)
BenB: but it's not telling it to go anywhere so it will go to default
BenB: if you need 10.100.x.x to go somewhere you need to define it.
BenBok, so we're talking about this line, right? 10.100.0.0 * 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 tap0
imperfect-BenB: Yep
BenBI thought this sends all traffic for 10.100.0.0/16 to tap0
imperfect-BenB: just like you did on 10.1.1.1
enycanAngel: try "cat /proc/net/ip_conntrack" as root ?
BlackHawkI'm creating my fstab file now. I didn't create a separate boot partition the boot info is located under the root partition /boot do I have to mension boot in my fstab file?
imperfect-BenB: I'd say give it an actual IP and see if it works.
nanonymehmm
init scripts are run as root, right?
CoolMcGrrrnanonyme, correct
Draconx|Laptopnanonyme, usually
SoftIcehi if I download a stage3 tarball how do I make a bootable iso?
BenBimperfect-: ok, maybe I misunderstand the route line above. how should it look like?
SoftIceor how do you install from stage3?
Draconx|LaptopSoftIce, you download the bootable iso image.
imperfect-BenB: where are you wanting the traffic to go from .1.2 -> 10.100 ?
Draconx|Laptopmzbot, gentoo SoftIce handbook
