RobbieAB|awayNorehsa: for gaming, go x86
brianwNorehsa: although compiles go faster in 64 bit....
NorehsaThank you very much ^_^
brianwNorehsa: use i686 not x86 though :)
hays_Heh, my AMD64 is sitting here waiting to be installed
I think I'll wait until the weekend to do it
Norehsalol now things get confusing again. what gains would I see by going i686 over x86? (intel xeon)
brianwNorehsa: many, and no downside
hays_Changing motherboards is always so.. exciting and a bit scary (although with a boot cd its not bad at all)
I always try to do it in such a way that I don't need a boot CD
Norehsaalright. thanks brian. I'm going to go check up the different architectures again, before I google I suppose I might as well ask, does anyone know a good site with a summary of them? (AMD64, x86, i686 are what I'm interested in)
RobbieAB|awaywikipedia
brianw^^
WhytWulfok, like I said I'm a noob . . . when I'm done vi'ing a file, how do I save it?

actionbrianw kicks himself for being off topic
brianwkicks himself for being off topic
hays_brian: and a bonus is I should get two more SATA ports out of the deal, which means a cheap way to add 2 more raid disks to the array (yay)
Ken69267: not if you don't intend to use vi for anything other than accidentally being in vi
Ken69267hays_: but we all love vi
:p
hays_brian: that might be my next box, but not for a while
sorry for the OT shutting up now
