NY Lost Funds

KiongkuDoes anyone have pecl-zip and php5 latest on their machine?
aqua-teen-hungerzlin, well a lot of good that does, the gimp can read it, but cant save a file :/
syberdavezlin: [ebuild N ] kde-base/kdesu-3.5.6 USE="xinerama -arts -debug -kdeenablefinal -kdehiddenvisibility" 23,595 kB
brianwsyberdave: that is the source, not the bin
njalOk gentoo is booting and it appears to be working, two final things, i wanna use gnome and beryl, and have an nVidia 6600 how'd i go about doing that, i assume with the nVidia driver i run the .run file from the nvidia site? As for gnome?
brianwnjal: first assumption wrong
njal: emerge -va nvidia-drivers
AidanJT23.6mb for kdesu? :S
zlinsyberdave: that's the source for all packages in kdebase.
syberdave: they extract source from the same tarball.
brianwnjal: also make sure and edit VIDEO_CARDS and INPUT_DEVICES in make.conf before emerging xorg-x11
thegscotthey guys, i am having problems getting my xorg.conf workign properly. In the log file "Xorg.0.log" i ge thte message (EE) NVIDIA(0) Failed to allocate video memory, (EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting *** followed by Fatal server error: AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0
zlinmzbot: gentoo syberdave kde split
mzbotsyberdave: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kde-split-ebuilds.xml
aqua-teen-hungerzlin, then when running mplayer on the other file it says Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load: avisynth.dll, libavformat file format detected
thegscottany help would be great.. because i feel like i have tryed everything and must be missing something basic
syberdaveoh, i see. i guess i learned something new today
brianwnjal: did it boot?
TFKyleaqua-teen-hunger: why are you asking windows questions in #gentoo?
njalbrainw: Yup it booted, have set up the day to day user
zlinsyberdave: once it's installed you can use qsize from portage-utils to see the size of the compiled package
aqua-teen-hungerTFKyle, im not
peksternjal && brianw: You might find it easier to just put VIDEO_CARDS="nvidia" in make.conf and merge in xorg-x11, as it should pull in the nvidia-drivers for you
TFKyleaqua-teen-hunger: ok, why are you talking about windows issues here? :)
syberdavezlin: okay, thanks
AidanJTTFKyle: it's a win32codecs prob
aqua-teen-hungerTFKyle, im trying to edit files on my media player to customize it, how is that related to windows in any manner?
brianwpekster: yeah I told him to edit it
zlinTFKyle: he's not.
peksterbrianw: Yea, just trying to save a step of merging in nvidia drivers. Call me a lazy typist ;)
zlinaqua-teen-hunger: no idea.
TFKyleaqua-teen-hunger: notice the win32 LoadLibrary reference, that's windows related
zlinTFKyle: no.
TFKylezlin: it's not?
zlin: so linux now supports PE and runs .exes natively?
brianwnjal: so you have yet to install xorg I assume?
zlinTFKyle: a question about how to play it on gentoo is gentoo related.
njalbrianW: input devices should read as what?
Yeah xorg needs installing
brianwnjal: I would use this, INPUT_DEVICES="evdev mouse keyboard"
