superbiaHi, is it possible to boot the gentoo install cd from a usb memory?
tulcodUngeniO: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_ivman
superbiabeen googling a while now and don't find much about it
tulcodsuperbia: if the usb drive is bootable AND your mobo can boot from it, yes
superbia: so... it depends on your usb drive and your mobo
superbiatulcod: I can boot from the stick, and mobo is okay with it... I just can't seem to figure out how to pull it off
tulcodsuperbia: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Gentoo_LiveCD_and_LiveUSB
UngeniOmzbot: ok .. I will take a look for this .. thanks.
superbiatulcod: thanks, will see if that helps any

UngeniO: hwat mzbot gave you is not what you want
UngeniOtulcod: ok .. thanks.
v3traeis there a way to test if Gentoo is seeing both my processors? feels more sluggish than ussual
tulcodv3trae: have you browsed in /proc?
remasterv3trae: less /proc/cpuinfo
edje2v3trae: top and the pres 1, it will give you the load per processor
v3traeedje2: says cpu cores : 1. I have a dual core. So i assume that means its only using one?
edje2: oh nevermind, it has a Processor :1 and Processor: 0
edje2v3trae: ok, both equally used? (more or less)
v3traeedje2: i dont see where i'd find that @_@
edje2v3trae: if your run "top" and press 1 you will see the load per processor
UngeniOtucold: I saw the howto but I did it some time ago .. in fact gentoo mount some usbdisk correctly (automounting in a automaked folder in /media dir) but I have another one usbdisk what gentoo is doing anything when I plug it in the system ..
v3traeedje2: honestly not seeing it. says Cpu(s) 46.2
sunruhi and genkernel work with vanilla sources?
edje2v3trae: huh? it should give two lines, like
Cpu0 : 37.0% user, 10.7% system, 0.0% nice, 52.3% idle
Cpu1 : 31.3% user, 12.3% system, 0.0% nice, 56.3% idle
flamesrockwhich file do I edit to change the subnet mask?
v3traeedje let me nopaste it
UngeniOtucold: the question is exist a list of devices more actual than I have and this is the reason because some usbdisk don't automount and another gentoo do the rigth thin ? or I missed to install some packages ??
v3traeedje2: or it wont do that either, sigh
